RBS Vantage - over £5k interest
Hi I'm aware that RBS Vatage pays 2% interest for balances between 4 - 5k but then says "You won’t earn interest on any balance over £5,000". Might seem a daft question but if you had £5,001 do you get *any* interest at all? I assume the interest simply stops at £5k - any balances above that don't earn interest. Thanks

How stop email notifications from MSE Forums?
I have spent some time reading various help pages on MSE but can't find out how to do this. I keep getting emails about comments to threads I've bookmarked and if I unbookmark them the notifications continue. There is no 'unsubscribe' option in the email and I can't find a 'contact us' link on the site. The old site had a…

Chargeback/Section 75
I understand the Section 75, & have used my c/c for £100 deposit, 3 additional payments by direct debit and a 4th (final) payment by c/c. I don't really understand how a Chargeback might fit that scenario. I used to think it could only be used if d/c was used for payment, but it appears it CAN be used for c/c purchases as…

NS&I Income Bond Interest Rate changes 1st May?
On 28/2/20 I received an email from NS&I (giving my name) informing me that the income bond interest rate would be changing from 1.16% down to 0.7% from 1/5/20. I transferred money to other accounts because of this. I find today that the NS&I bond is now the highest interest easy access account shown on MSE at STILL 1.16%.…

Nationwide FlexPlus - is it worth it now?
When this account started a couple of years back they offered an in credit interest, but that stopped a while back. The monthly charge is £13 and that gives travel insurance (provided no pre-existing conditions), mobile insurance and breakdown cover. All in all it was a good deal at that time. However, the interest has…

Looks like recession on the way. I have a 123 Santander account. Was looking to switch to Starling due to monthly charge and rate drop - now Starling announced big rate drop. I got a marcus account to transfer money to that instead of 123 - slight drop but still very competitive. Any ideas of best move next in terms of…

Random credit from Tesco to a bank account
Someone I know has just received her bank statement and there is a random credit of £4.50 from Tescos. The problem is that it won't be a refund as she hasn't bought anything in Tescos for several years and her card number (and expiry date) would have changed at least once during that time. She's checked with both the bank…

Barclays close daughters account - Your thoughts?
Three weeks ago my daughter's boyfriend fell for a phishing scam and divulged his online banking login details. He called her back and…
