Lloyds Current Account

Options
Hi Guys...
Bit Frightened About using this But its my first time on one of these forums..
Recently Opened  A Bank Account With Lloyds Bank, ( It was Accepted at first), But On the Same Day that it was accepted, i recieved a Text Message telling me that it was unsuccessful. I went into The Branch With Proof of Identification Documents, and Was told the same thing. However , On the same day that i visited the branch, I Recieved a text message telling me that it was Successful, which confused me, because it was 10 Miniutes after i Left the Branch. I have recently called, And was Told that there were no indicators of closure on the account, and Was Informed that i should Visit the branch AGAIN to Double Check This - I cannot do this As I live a while away from my Branch!!. Yesterday, i recieved a letter stating that i was "enrolled for Internet Banking" which was dated on the 12th May, and i was Able to Order a paying In Book Via Self Service Banking , so im still confused as to whats going on. Ive been checking my Internet Banking Every day and it seems fine, But I Just need some advice Please ?
Thanks...

Welcome to the forum :) I don't have much experience with Lloyds. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be able to advise better then I. It sounds like there has been a mix up at their end. Have you received a letter/email now indicating you will receive a debit card and PIN?

This sounds a bit of a mess. I am afraid, nobody here knows whether your account is open or not. You have to ask Lloyds.

Before I opened an account with Lloyds last month I was advised by their staff on Twitter that the majority of customers end up visiting a branch to provide ID. Incidentally this did not turn out to be true in my case but maybe I am in the minority.

Not much help with this query only to say their systems seem to give conflicting information. Example I applied for an overdraft online and the system said max £550 but I put in an amount of £2000 and was accepted immediately.

but I have Been Informed By Letter that my account is "Due For Closure", and Cannot Stay Open any longer. I have Done A Data Request On the CIFAS database and there is No Information there, and have checked my credit report, but theres nothing on there either. I Am Confused, that When there is Nothing Wrong with my History Or Credit file, they can still do this, Considering all of the Letters and Text Messages Indicating that my account was Open. The Only Advice that i could be given was " To Raise an Appeal and See if the Underwriters think you are suitable for the account". I have Direct Debits and Bills to pay so I need an Account relatively Quickly...
Does Anyone Know Which Information i need to raise an Appeal - What can Help me to Ensure that this appeal runs smoothly ?
    Thanks

Well, if Lloyds have told you you don't have an account with them, you don't have an account with them. They can choose who they do business with, and so can you. Appealing is a waste of time. Try your luck elsewhere.

Did this letter arrive today?  That information is obviously massively significant compared with what you originally posted so would have been an odd omission, but conversely you can't have had time to go through the SAR process with CIFAS if only starting it today?

I'm not sure there's anything else you can tell them, in the absence of any explanation from them - you're effectively just asking them to have another look.  If you're putting anything in writing to them, you might want to go a bit easier on the Caps Lock key, as capitalising so many words unnecessarily doesn't do much for readability.

Where are these direct debits being paid from at the moment?

          1) I Started this process 3 Days Ago on the Tuesday to Check if there was any adverse information on my report but there was nothing there... It is Extremely Confusing , considering that I Recieved Letters stating that my Internet Banking had been set Up.  Confusingly, the Letter stating Internet banking access was Dated on the 12th, and the letter Stating Declination was dated on the 11th. Having Spoken with Staff at Customer services Again, the Only thing i was asked to do was to "Provide any Bank Statements - This will Help Have A Positive Impact on the Application "- I Dont see How this will Help. But i will try and send some...

    2) Okay

    3) Ive Currently had to Freeze any Direct Debits at the moment as i used the current account switching service... My Old Account was Already Closed, as The Lloyds Account was Initially Declared as being Open.. I Used to Bank With Santander Bank so getting that account Back is Almost Impossible...
