As the title suggests, this is an idle but genuine enquiry Which bank invented the '2 direct debit rule'? I believe it was Halifax back in 2009 when it launched the Reward current account. Any other theories?

RBS account number
I have just opened an account with RBS and am still waiting for my telephone banking stuff etc. Is it usual for their debit card to show my sort code, but not my account number? Just want to know before I phone them, Many thanks
