I have just opened an account with RBS and am still waiting for my telephone banking stuff etc. Is it usual for their debit card to show my sort code, but not my account number? Just want to know before I phone them,
Many thanks

I also have an RBS-branded debit card with sort code and no account number, so yours isn't unique, no idea if it's usual or not for them though. Doesn't bother me, is it an issue for you?0

I had a RBS account a few years back and i also had no account number on my card, so i would say that this is common for them.0

Normal for RBS. Don't worry about it!0

Just opened an RBS account - wondered the same thing about the debit card - seems to be a standard practice for RBS.0

Same for Natwest as it is a part of the same banking group0

You surely can't have thought that they'd had a card-production malfunction just on your card, can you?0 -
Don't waste the time of the call centre rep nor yours, it's normal for just the sort code to be on the card. My card has only ever had the sort code on despite being changed over the last 18+ years.0

No, but amongst other things they managed to open two accounts at the same time, and only one had an account number assigned to it.
The reason I would need it is that it is my point of reference when setting up direct debits and the like.
Ignoring the sardonic replies, thanks for the helpful information otherwise.0
