Hi All....
Were in the middle of an extension, we have borrowed on our mortgage and have a large sum of money in my partners account. I want to switch it to a joint account. We'll be needing to have easy access to pay builder etc. Most savings accounts penalise for taking out money and standard accounts seem to want at leave 2 dd per month to qualify.

Most easy access savings accounts don't penalise for withdrawal, although some of the higher-paying ones do have some restrictions.
If by 'standard accounts' you mean current accounts then again, none actually require you to have multiple DDs, although a small number will only pay relatively high interest if you do so.

Usually only if you wish to qualify for interest or a switching incentive. Most savings accounts penalise for taking out money
Most? There is usually a penalty if the account is fixed term or has started off with an "access only permitted penalty free xxx times a year"clause.

A standard joint account not requiring DDs should be available through any bank.
