PayPal question
Sorry if this is in the wrong place but I just have a quick question about my PayPal. I sold a few things on eBay recently and have a little money in there I want to keep for Christmas. I want to keep it separate (if not it will get spent!) and wondering if I can transfer more money from the current account it is linked to…

Instant Access savings account as "donor" accounts
Could i use a Tesco Instant Access Savings Acciutn as a donor account for switching? Current accounts are always mentioned, but seeing as I already have a Internet Saver with Tesco, opening a few as donor accounts with them seems a safer bet, (in terms of credit rating impact) than going to new institutions and opening…

I have been a reader of these forums (and Martin's weekly email) for some time, but this is my first post. I hope that I've done it correctly! Smile's awful new website
In the last month Smile changed me onto their new website. The new site is a category of errors, it looks like it's been put together by someone that really doesn't understand usability. The old site wasn't pretty, but it was at least fairly straightforward and simple to use. The new site is awful. You can see that a lot…

Switching bank accounts
Ok, I have a current account and a savings account with my bank, on payday a set amount is transferred to the savings account and if during the month I need to, I can transfer cash from the savings account to the current account (or vice versa) using my banks mobile app. If I use the current account switching service to…

Opened a joint first direct last week - would it look OK to open one with HSBC now?
Hi, I've recently opened a joint first direct account and intended to switch my banking to them to qualify for the £100 bonus. Today I've seen the HSBC offer of £150, plus another £50. Just a bit worried if I apply for HSCB it might look bad on my credit file - as only opened the first direct one last week? Hadn't put…

Club Lloyds cinema tickets
Just wondering - are the tickets only 'active' if the account that produced them is still running? In other words, if you open an account, get the cinema tickets & then close the account, is it still possible to use the tickets or would they no longer work since the account would be closed?

Has Nationwide actually upgraded anyone from FlexBasic?
I know someone recently asked this on here but the reason I ask is: Running a flex basic account and waiting for an upgrade - is it not better to just apply for a full flex account every so often? It's not quite clear cut

TSB launching Android Pay
Hi I guess pretty much every TSB customer got this e-mail this morning. Personally I do not really see the point in using phones to pay for things when it needs charging and power, can be a target for theft and is usually slower than just using a contactless card, but there is nowt as strange a folk :) But I know some…

Switching to the Co-operative Bank
Hi all, I was completing the online form to switch to Co-operative Bank from my donor account created around a month ago. Almost at the end of the form, they ask you how long you had the previous current account for, and I will have to say "1 month". Is this a problem in this particular case (Co-operative bank) or better…

Depositing a Cheque in Dollars
I have recently received a cheque made out in Dollars and am having major problems trying to lodge it.
