High paying current accounts - future of
So we all know that there are stacks of these around and lots of us are utilising these instead of (or as well as) other forms of savings (and investments). Is it me or have these mushroomed in the last couple of years? Or is it that they have always been there but there have been 'better' options and hence never been in…

Switching - does the old account automatically close?
My switch day is today. Yesterday I looked online and saw that the balance from my old account had moved across into my new one. However, today I can still log onto my old account. It isn't closed, or at least it yet.

Halifax Bank - NATO phonetic alphabet
Don't know if it's just on the freephone number, but the Halifax Bank help line require your memorable information spoken in the NATO phonetic alphabet. Be careful when you use Santander Bank CHAPS service
I just would like to share my recent experience with Santander bank with you. I think potentially, it can happen with other bank as well. So be careful when you use CHAPS payment service. Santander 123 not funded by £500
Due to an oversight I paid virtually nothing into my Santander 123 account between 10/02 and 10/03 (10th being my "monthiversary"). I still received interest as usual though, does anyone have any experience of whether next month's interest will be affected? Or is it not rigorously enforced? Obviously nothing I can do, just…

Overdraft after account due to close
Does anyone know what would happen if a current account together with overdraft limit is due to be closed (e.g. as a result of a switch or if the bank has advised that they are to close the account) and on the date it is due to close there is still an overdrawn balance so the account can't close but the overdraft limit…

Paying in a cheque with an iPhone.
Barclays are trialling a new system which allows you to pay in a cheque using your iPhone. If you receive a cheque you submit a photo of it and enter a few details via their mobile banking app. This idea sounds revolutionary and would come in very handy. I had to queue up in the bank to pay in a road tax refund and wished…

I will soon need to transfer £20000 to my daughter as part of a house purchase. They claim this is…
