Halifax reward acc 750 Per month?

Hi, really sorry if this is already a thread but I'm new to the forum and was just wondering if it's mandatory for the Halifax reward acc that you pay in 750 per month or if that is just to get the £5 per month 'interest' as I only work part time. If I could join would I still get the £125 switching bonus?

Thanks in advance :)

    No it is not mandatory.

    Yes.
  • Sorry again, just delving through the halifax website and found the regular current acc offers the £125 for switching too without the pay in!

It's very easy to earn less than £750 a month but get the free fiver.

    1) Credit wage to account. Let's say it's £400.
    2) Transfer £350 to an Online Saver account with Halifax.
    3) Transfer £350 back to the current account.

You have now credited £750 to your Reward account for the month.

Process should take around a minute.

The payout is almost instant, too.

I switched an unused bank account to my existing Halifax Rewards account. £125 in the account the same day. Money for nothing.

As PeacefulWaters mentioned, funding a Rewards account with £750 a month is easy - even if you don't earn that much a month. Then you'll receive an extra fiver a month. :rotfl:

Don't you have to have any DD set up as well to receive the £5 bonus?

I've just opened a new Reward account and will switch one of the old Lloyds Vantage accounts which already has the two DD set up.

Just in time as I finish work (for good) in five days time!

    Hi!
This may be a really stupid question but how do you set up direct debits? Are they not done by a company? I'd like to just set up a direct debit to my other account for £1 like you and then probably just to my partners account (again for a £1) I seem to be only able to set them up as a standing order?

    Thank you!!

Other than a Tesco online savings account (they accept direct debits), you usually have to set direct debits up via a large company. I use 1 Tesco account, as well as one of my usual utility bills, for each H Reward a/c.
