Norway salary paid to UK bank account
As from next month my salary will be paid into my UK Santander bank account in NOK. The rate I recieve will be whatever it is on the day, but I have no idea the difference in the true rate and the rate Santander uses. Is there any way I can track these rates live or is there a general mark down rate the banks use? I don't…

hypothetical Q - when a bank closes an account
I've been reading here the occasional thread that pops up about banks terminating accounts due to suspected fraudulent activity, etc. Now, obviously I appreciate it's rare, but mistakes can and do happen... so, if a bank does close the account, do you get the money back, or do they just swallow it all? I've had my account…

Difference between Balance and Available Balance?
Please excuse the ignorance and poor lack of money knowledge, but what is the difference between 'Balance' and 'Available Balance'? I have (approx) £1050 as my Balance, however, only (approx) £65 as my Available Balance. I'm confused as to which figure to look at?! Thank you in advance for any help :)

Nationwide: Transferred bills and then said they can't do it!
Transferred an account to Nationwide. Noticed my SOs and DDs from that account have disappeared and now appear on Nationwides online banking. This was when the 4.25% ISA came out, so about 2 weeks ago (at least). Now I've just received a letter saying "We attempted to request a list of payments from your previous provider.…

The joyous HSBC have bounced a payment when I made sure money was paid in the same day to cover the payment. This has resulted in a £25 fee and a late payment mark on my credit file from the payee.
