Hi All,
I'm looking for some advice. I am an alcoholic who has been in recovery for 5 weeks. While I was drinking I buried my head in the sand constantly and now I need to face up to things. I have no idea where to start. How do I go about sorting out my finances? I am lucky enough to have a job and my own home but I really want to plan a successful budget and stick to it as part of the new 'me.' Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks.

Even just a simple budget planner would help me? Or if anybody could point me in the right direction please? I'd really appreciate it0

Take a look at the web site https://www.makesenseofcards.co.uk.
The statement of affairs section is a useful template that you can use to start thinking about how much things cost.
My big tip is to round everything up to the nearest £10 above and then add 10% on as well. This helps to build a little bit of fat into things which helps when the going gets tough.
There's also the link at the top of the page.

Maybe the debt free board would be better for this post? I know the guys and girls over there would be more than happy to help you run through an soa. They'll help show you possible areas to cut back on0

But best of luck to you!0
