Messed up the first Hurdle
Long time lurker, newbie poster :o Just wanted to post a quick public rant at myself and to see if we really have messed up big time at the first hurdle. Myself and partner are in a lot of debt and have spoken to CCCS who told us the very first thing we need to do is to open a basic bank account. We went today to the…

Cash accounts - At my wits end : (
I only registered today in a final attempt at help from what a situation which is fast becoming a total nightmare. I opened a cash account with Lloyds TSB around 7 years ago whilst i lived overseas. Sole trader bank account.
Have tried Santander, Nat West and Barclays as I need to open a new business account due to the demise of our Halifax business account. Internet advice indicates that the most cost effective way to run a sole trader account is through a personal current account. The three approached tell us this is not possible. Any advice…

Will Natwest Close My Account ?
I applied for a Natwest Current account online and have been accepted and have also returned my paperwork to them (I already had a E-Saver account with them), but I have read stories about this AVU department they use and I am now worried that they will close it. I don’t have the best credit in the world which is probably…

Santander preferred in Credit Account
Ok so I have this account because I liked the idea of 5% interest on blances up to £2500. The thing that gets me, but I may be being really stupid here, is if the interest rate drops to 0.25 or whatever it is if you go over the £2500 mark, how are you ever expected to get 5% interest on £2500 if every month you have to pay…

Why is it so tricky to move bank?
A couple of months ago I moved bank from Santander to Bank of Scotland. I was happy as anything with Alliance and Leicester but since they were bought by Santander I've experienced nothing but getting messed about, money getting put in/taken out late and abysmal customer service. So I moved to Bank of Scotland. Now the…

Lloyds TSB - Bank Account and charges
Hi, I seem to be having a long running issue with Lloyds TSB. The background is that 3 years ago, my partner and I hit slight cash flow problems. Although I was putting all available funds in to the joint Lloyds TSB account, the charges were swallowing our money and therefore making us default on our mortgage. After a…

Lost £200! :'(
I realise this is probably in the wrong section but I just need to rant :-( I was getting out £200 from my local cashpoint at the bus station to pay the deposit on a holiday (which I can no longer afford to pay for), in my excitement I just walked away with the card and not the money. I realised after about 5 seconds,…

Lloyds TSB £15,000 faster payments
Just logged-in to LloydsTSB internet banking and they are advertising a £15,000 daily limit on faster payments except to first-time payees. Don't know if this is a new limit but just a quick heads-up in case it is. It's about the highest non-corporate limit I know of.
