Very, very cold overnight here and icy this morning but the main roads were OK. DS has gone on a school trip today and will be outside all day so he was well wrapped up this morning.

I made my banana muffins yesterday and put peanut butter in them, they were a truimph, sweet and soft with little bits of salty peanut.

Have a load in the wash at the moment so some of that will have to go in the tumble drier later the rest on the heated airer but needs must. I managed to get out cycling yesterday, the sun was out and the roads were safe but the sun was completely blinding most of the time.

I need to go to Matalan and collect my order this morning so fingers crossed both items will be OK, I need to return an item to Sainsburys and will get some milk whilst I'm there.

Yesterday ended up being NSD 6 as I found a loaf in the freezer for toast/sandwiches, we did not have hot chocolate last night so there was milk for cereal this morning, just! and there was loo roll in all three bathrooms so I risked not going out with 4 kids who did not want to go out anyway - both schools were closed.

So, last night I checked and the primary school was to be closed today as well, but the High School was to be open - they are 2 streets away from each other. Must be down to staff not being able to get in - or all the primary schools being closed.. So I was scraping the car in -6 degrees this morning at 7.45 and the roads were fine, well, the main roads were fine and everyone was being sensible and sticking to 20 mph. I did go off on one side road to drop the boys at the side entrance, and it was totally iced up, but could happily do a 3 point turn, and then went shopping at Aldi . Should need nothing else until milk runs out. The bin lorries are out this morning already, if they can make it up the iced up roads, surely they are not impassable!!!

It is the pavements that are a death trap.

So I am stuck home with the 2 smalls which will severely impact on the birthday/ Xmas prep. I don't want to sit and buy half of Amaz0n or 3bay, buying stuff with them popping in and out of the room.

Booked MOT and service for next week. I can afford it. I have the money in the bank. Glad it is only once a year!

Will buy the rest of the 'stuff to go by post' tomorrow and send it, if there are no kids about the place. Fingers crossed.

    Keep warm everyone!!

    #19 Checking in - Day 12

Debt Planning - NSD still 4/15 not one today as need to take DS for haircut
Exterminate - Limited time on FB meant I could sort out a drawer in my bedside table
Clear up - Lots of threadbare socks in the bin.
    Explore - Nothing again here
Mental Health - Will be glad when DS party over on Sunday is that awful to think like that??
Budget - Still need to do some work here think I'm avoiding looking!
Evaluate - I need to make a proper list of things I've said on here I want to do next year as at the moment I can't remember them all - Looking forward to starting this in January.
Remember - Paid for film night at school for DS money goes towards the school fundraising. Its also jumper day on Friday I think its a £1 which goes to Save the Children. Taking some tins to T£sco later.

I'm really looking fwd to this too. Not that I'm wishing Christmas away, but I have enough lists for just now and I can't really think about January yet. But looking forward to this Christmas malarkey ;) to be over (not too quickly though) and a fresh start.

Hubby will be away with work the second week of January which should help with keeping the grocery spend down and with keeping me on the straight and narrow for dry January (wish I could say 2018 :p but like a wee tipple too much). Doing dry January or up to my 40th to "detox" and to go back to the way of having a drink to appreciate it more rather just oh it's Friday.

    Day 12
Was a spend day. Notebook updated. Brought Christmas crackers. Helped a friend out as the shop had 3 for 2 so she got Christmas cards free.
Had the funeral director come round to start the process of the funeral.
    Grateful for -
Starting the process for the funeral. He came round which helped and was very nice and compassionate.
Spent some time with my friend.
Saved money on the crackers as I put the 20% off on them on the loyalty card I have.
    Managed to shred some paperwork.
Having a chilled out evening and an early night.

NSDs 7. ..I *do* find that I get more NSDs when I'm busy working! :D

Lunches taken/ prepped at home ran out of work, popped in shop to drop off fleabay parcel and then nipped home - wasn't going to - but OH had said one of the loos was leaking before he went to work. He thought that he'd repaired it, but if he hadn't then a ceiling might have gone if left too long - so I thought I should check! Anyway, all seemed ok - flooring just needs to dry out. Fingers crossed. As I was home, I toasted a slice of HM bread, grabbed a YS doughnut from the freezer and nuked it for 20 seconds - and that was my lunch before I then dashed to school to watch DS3 (Y4) in the KS2 Xmas carol production.

Today has been a NSD so I’m at 3/15. Still feel really behind with this but any progress (however small) is good.

Signatures updated. Budget looking okay. I’ve offered to host a Boxing Day meal for my mum, her partner and my little brother so we will need to stock up next week for that. No need to rush though - I don’t want to spend too much as the shopping budget this month is tight, but I should be able rustle something up.

Still taking pack-up to work and have avoided Caffè Nero this week so far. I have some latte sachets that I’m taking to work and trying to seriously limit spends as I went over last week. I have no personal budget this week so will have to make do. :)

Gratitudes: I’m grateful for freezer Food, enough food to stretch out this week, no snow today so we could get to work easily enough and my fully charged kindle.
    February Grocery Budget: £190.75/£350.00

Kerry Woman - so glad that you are meeting some lovely people to help you with the funeral. It makes such a difference. How are you sleeping now?

Today I am grateful for my counsellor, for a good walk in the sunshine, for dh doing some of the food shopping, for a friend coming home with dd, for making choc chip cookies, for trialling my own version of chocs by pouring melted gf/df choc into silicone moulds, for sorting out presents for people at work, for booking the travel tickets to visit big sis later on.

Another fly by posting, - all the spare moments lost in DD1 birthday plans, wrapping etc.
Ousted: clothes - outgrown, unsellable/charityable (word?) Found a bag of clothes for DD2, tucked away in the loft. She's over the moon.
Remember: Given dupilcate Bday gift of DD2 to The local hospital so the kids there have something to open.
No more presents left for me to buy for anyone. Not even looking now. May end up trawling shops for other people to give other people, but I'm done.
Sent presents that must go by post. Not queuing there either. It cost me a NSD but should inturn be able to reclaim one later.
    Stay warm and dry, people.
