Hi,
Thanks so much for writing such a useful guide. One thing I'd raise just for balance is I went to the CAA on a disputed claim against BA, and they turned it around. For me, the CAA did a brilliant job.

I think this needs a bit of updating ...0

Update from 1 November: I have revised the guide, following the Supreme Court's decisions on Huzar and Dawson. I have also updated with some other developments since the Guide was first written.

As ever, happy to take on board any comments and keep revising.
Perhaps it's too much to hope, but maybe this guide might not be needed for too much longer? Here's hoping!

ESCP leaflet http://hmctsformfinder.justice.gov.uk/courtfinder/forms/ex725-eng.pdf talks about
"Outside the European Union
There are different Regulations in place for claims brought involving parties in countries outside the European Union, who are members of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). The Lugano Convention of 16 September 1988 on Jurisdiction and the enforcement of judgments in civil and commercial matters govern these. At present apart from EU Member States, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland are contracting parties to this convention."
Here's a link to the Lugano convention http://curia.europa.eu/common/recdoc/convention/en/c-textes/lug-idx.htm
Not sure if this may help enforcement or if practicable.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Is there a substantive list of "EU carriers" available please? If so, a link to it in the guide would very useful.0

Cheers. It seems ludicrous that if one flies from UK to New York on, say, Delta and the flight is delayed you can claim under the Regs but not if it's the return trip that's delayed0
