Name Dropper First Post First Anniversary I've been Money Tipped!
Hi all

Following on from Hurricane’s great threads the last couple of years, I thought it would be good to start thinking about what we want to achieve by December 2015. I did quite a specific list last year (and it was long too!) and succeeded on about half of it, my lesson for this year is to be clear what things are definite and non negotiable ‘must do’ and what are ‘would like to do ‘. Last year my major objective was to be more mindful – to take control of my life rather than just letting it happen.

I need to do a bit more thinking about my specific goals, I know for sure that there’s one around flexibility and posture that’s a key one. And definitely one around losing weight – this was not a success last year! I’ll update this by mid January.
.
I’m figuring on re-activating this in December 2015 but happy to have updates in the meantime.

Anyone else in?

My goals are:
Fitness and wellbeing:
To go to yoga twice a week and take up pilates
To improve my posture and flexibility
To walk 12k steps daily
To spend more time with family and developing friendships
To lose a stone by Easter and maintain this loss

Work:
To work towards a fair division of labour in my team
To take opportunities and build links across teams

Personal
Support DH who is going through major (and hopefully positive) changes at the minute
Be mindful, write and reflect most days
Allocate my time mindfuly
Be kind to myself and accept my limitations,

Oooooh this will be interesting! I would like to:

    1) Start eating better - less takeaways, maybe only one a week?! Cooking more

    2) Walk the dogs myself most days a week - at the mo, I don't tend to go when OH takes them

    3) Try to see my friends more

    4) Start to be a good saver - was a student and only started grad job in Sept. Been paying off overdraft and xmas recently but no excuses now

    5) I'd quite like to move up in the relationship league and lose the 'girlfriend' title too...

I was hoping someone would start this thread, thanks belfastgirl23.

    Here's my thoughts for 2015:-
    1. Lose weight and get healthier. I've joined a gym and want to build going into my routine so it doesn't feel like a chore.
    2. Pass the 4 exams I'll be sitting every two months until July. The plan is to study on the non-gym days.
    3. Get a permanent job - I've been contracting for 2 years and want to settle down.
    4. Go on a 5:2 TV diet - my kids are away every Tuesday and Wednesday night and I tend to veg in front of the TV those nights.
    5. Be a better friends - in fact find more friends! And have a more active social life.
    6. I would add meet a fella but I've been single for 8 years, so don't see that happening.
    7. Keep a tidier house.
    8. My finances are well planned, so continue to stick to the plan!

Quite a boring list, so I'll add on I'd like two holidays this year, one with the kids and one without.

    Happy New Year everyone.

I would love to join in too :)

By the end of this year I would like

    1) Eat healthier, my diet isn't too bad but I have consumed a lot of crap over the festive period :D

    2) Exercise more, I sit at a desk all morning then sit on the sofa all night :o I have bought a yoga mat so will be giving that a try and go out for a walk instead of watching rubbish on TV.

    3) Declutter - I have so much stuff and I'm running out of places to stash it all - I don't want to end up on an episode of a Hoarder series in 20 years time!!

    4) Be more organised at home. I watch loads of YouTube videos on how to organise things but I've just not got round to doing it yet :o

    5) Be more organised with posting on my blog, due to illness and work etc I haven't posted as much as I would have liked last year so I am aiming to be more productive this year!

    6) I would forgo all of the above if it means my fourth (and probably last) IVF cycle will work. We are hoping to start again in April which will mean beginning of Jan 2016 that they would be due.

Hopefully we can all tick as many off our lists in the next 364 days as we can xx

Will be interesting to see how many of these I manage:

    1) Improve my fitness
    2) Get a sub 25 min 5k time.
    3) Get debt to below £5k.
    4) Go to at least 2 new countries.
    5) Get some new education in something. Anything will do but needs to be relevant.
    6) Get a new hobby

OK - let's see what I can commit to this year

    1. Apply to UEA for the english/history degree - and do it!

    2. Start putting away my wages and live on my pension, so that I'm ready for when I retire again.

    3. Stop vegging in front of the TV when I come in from work, and actually do something instead of sitting with the lappy on my knees and the tv on!

    4. Get the garden organised and work on a little veg patch just for me.

    5. With 3 & 4 hopefully, lose some weight - and keep it off!

I'm going to get in quick with this one as I couldn't remember if I posted on last years one and couldn't be bothered to wade through!
    • Drop 3 dress sizes so when my contract runs out at the end of next year I reenter the freelance world/job market as the slim old me (5 days into diet already :T )
    • Do the illustrations/photo montage for a children's book I have written.

    • Complete the mock up of new magazine idea I have to pitch to publisher.

    • Declutter the house and add more storage.

    • Redecorate the house in a style that will be more appealing to others in case I can't find as much work next year and need to downsize.

    • Pay off the last of my credit card and never run up another, the end is in sight!

    • Be more sensible with money generally and try to build up a bit of an emergency fund while I have a steady income.

    • Stop investing time and money in finding nice Christmas/birthday presents for SIL and BIL when we receive a load of shoite from them. Buy myself a nice Christmas/birthday present instead :)

    • Limit my internet time with an egg timer. The modem was broken for a few days post Christmas and it's amazing how much more 'stuff' has got done without it :o
    Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

    December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.10
