Having a debate with my other half about when to put the Christmas tree up

I LOVE Christmas so want to do it on 1st December

He says not before 12th December as the 1st is too early (what a humbug!)

So out of interest if you particpate in Christmas trees and/or decorations when do you put yours up?

On the 24th of December. Always a real tree, not plastic. With real candles on. It is taken down on the 6th of January.

Would usually be about 7-10 days before christmas. I love the idea of the tree but once it's actually up I find it a bit annoying as it always seems to make the room look a bit messy.

Not sure we'll bother this year as we've now got a cat and I don't want him to pull it over/try to eat the lights/generally get stuck in it!

Approx a week before Christmas, it's usually a weekend so this year it will be about the 15th. Comes down about 5th January.

We buy a real tree and tend to get over-excited and put it up in the first week of December. We're quite often fed up of it by Christmas and the last couple of years we've actually taken it down on New Year's day! :o Going to hold out until mid-December this year so the magic lasts a little longer. :xmastree:

Normally about the 14th/ 15th, or whatever the weekend falls on close to those dates. We take it down on 1st January as I can't stand it up past then!

a week before is more than enough , and jan 2nd to take down
  • If you have a real tree and put it up too early, By Christmas it's going to be looking a bit brown and dry!
