E.ON v5 price increase.

I switched to eon a couple of months ago to v5 online with a standing charge, i got the paperwork which confirmed the unit prices and the fact i am on v5.
I went online to check my account and the unit prices have gone right up, they are now just a little bit more than the online v6.
I have rung them and i was told that we are getting letters very shortly telling us of the rises.
Has anybody got the letter, or better still go online and check your prices.

• Yes I'm on V5 and can confirm the unit costs are now -

Normal units
10.206 pence per kWh
Standing Charge
19.803 pence per Day
Gas
Normal units
2.9127 pence per kWh
Standing Charge
12.1695 pence per Day

Edit - just worked this out, I'm going to pay about £3 extra per month on a £30 gas, £30 electric charge per month. All in all whilst it's annoying there isn't anyone else cheaper I can switch to and on a £60 energy bill, £3 isn't too bad.

I dont understand the standing order thing , is it supposed to replace the two tier pricing system ?
• Standing order is the traditional way of metering, some people are better off with it, some people better off on the two tier system. I worked out I'm marginally better off on the standing charge, but that's the biggest increase on gas - it's shot up almost 4p a day.

My online account shows unit prices are the same as the version 6 but the discount is bigger. Energy Helpline doesn't seem to have been updated yet.

Not been in work this week so am a bit late in finding out developments!

How can you see the rates online, do you need to produce a bill?

Does anyone know the new v5 economy 7 rates?

Hi

The prices are slightly different from what is quoted above.

Electricity
Normal units
10.647 pence per kWh

Standing Charge
22.1865 pence per Day

Gas
Normal units
2.9127 pence per kWh

Standing Charge
12.1695 pence per

Electricity - an increase of 11.6% per unit & 12.05% for the standing charge.

Gas - an increase of 13% per unit & 46% for the standing charge.

The increases to the standing charges alone increase my annual bill by £23. Then add the £130 to my G&E bill - so in total an increase of £153 - this is 15% more than the deal I signed up for - this is ridiculous!

I realise prices are going up for eveyone but their tactics of attracting new customers is shocking. When the prices increased a few months back I changed over to British Gas click 4 as they were classed as the cheapest on all the comparison sites. The bumped their prices up on the fly so I cancelled the changed & moved my supplier to E-On.

6 weeks after switching to E-On they have increased their online tariff - how many customers have they attracted due to them being "the cheapest" on the comparison sites?

In my opinion if the prices are to be increased they should increase all their tariffs at the same time, that way the consumers would have a level playing field when it comes to searching for a new supplier.

Buy hey, that would mean that they have to be upfront & they're just not goiing to do that are they?

Time to change again!!

!!
Don't forget electricity prices vary according to the area of UK in which you live.

Ooops - sorry!!

Don't know if that makes me more angry or now though.

Anyway, no point in looking around for a new deal yet as the comparison sites don't seems to have updated the E-ON prices.
