Read some threads on this website and decided to try and get an upgrade to a Sky+ box through calling Sky's cancellation team.
They told me the price was £149 including installation. Then the price went down to £99 including installation after I said I have my braodband and phone with them. Then it went down to nothing - thats right completely FREE no box cost and no installation cost.
So I can't believe I have saved so much money. So thank you for those people who added the Sky+ info to the website.

Whats the number for cancellation please0

I just got my Sky+ ordered for FREE too ..I called 01506 421 702 and told the agent I wanted to cancel cos I didn't have Sky+ and was missing stuff. Was put through to the cancellations team. (I'd been plucking up the courage to do this for ages!)
The Agent said the best they could do was a discount bringing it to £49 (inc. install). I said that unless they had some way of removing this cost then I still wanted to cancel. They then asked to put me on hold and finally came back saying someone had wiped the £49 off as a good will gesture. Clearly, I had to contain myself. Cool or what!!!?
As I used a geographic number the call only cost me 5p (using www.18185.co.uk). Only downside was the call itself took about 30 mins... Basically there was a lot of listening to how their great products are and why £49 is a great 'one off' price etc... Obviously try to remain unimpressed and have your 'life without sky broadband/tv/talk' all mapped out....
Thanks charlie37 for the opening post and all the others who have posted info.0 -

I'm tempted to phone up and try this but I'm concerned they may cancel my account and leave me with nothing. I don't want to cancel and be left without broadband!!0

there's always a 30 cancellation period so if they call your bluff and process your cancellation just ring them up the next day and say you've changed your mind.0 -

I was told there was a 30 days notice period too.
So absolutely no risk of loosing if for some reason they don't offer you the same deal.
Everyone is saying they get the deal, so I suggest you don't leave it too long!!0 -
I think everyone should be able to get this free really. Alot of places are offereing this free for new customers. It just seems if your a current customer, you have to push them a bit harder to get it :rolleyes:0
