OK the price of Diesel is getting out of hand again, I paid 95.2p per litre the other day, how much is it at the minute over the border,

Don't know exact price as I have a petrol car, but the border service stations sell for just over 70p /Litre I think, gets cheaper the further into Donegal you go, I'm sure its the same on the Cavan /Monaghan stations alsoI am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0

Last year, in our area, HM Customs and Police were pulling over cars to check if they were diesel and taking samples from their tanks. I guess they were looking for those evading duty,0

I was in Omeath on Friday past and if I remember correctly, it was around 102 cents per litre. Have no Idea what that equates to in Sterling!

Thanks for the replies, could I just pour in a few litres of cooking oil them into the tank and it would work OK0

You can't just throw cooking oil in your tank - it needs to be Bio diesel. There are quite a few places selling it and it does work just fine. However be careful - unlike regular fuel (petrol or diesel) there is no industry standard or quality control.0
