This flipping diet is driving me mad. Yesterday, I decided to be good, so had a red day. For breakfast I had boiled egg & 1 round wholemeal toast, lunch was ham salad with one spoonful of salad cream. Dinner was Aldi lamb shanks with four tiny new potatoes and veg, and then later I had half a packet of french fries, and one small glass of wine.

Weighed myself this morning, and I had put on half a lb

I know, I have to be good today, but I really don't know what I did yesterday. My turn to be fed up, but I'll pull myself together and get on with it - is this really my life from now on :o

So my menu plan for the weekend includes:

Today Im green so mean beanz italian for lunch with spring onion and chillis
tea is 170g (using both HEB) of gammon steak with plenty of jacket chips and two pineapple rings (1.25 syns)

Tomorrow Red so Mushroom and bacon omlette for breakfast, stir fry for lunch ? (not sure on this however) and slimming world beef madras curry for tea with onion bhajis (1 syn each) and tomato relish - what I can have instead of rice?

Im going to try and stick to 10 syns until my next weigh in (Wednesday) and also cut back on the alcohol as one LARGE (not measured!) glass of wine sends me to sleep!

Sunday is a blank - Ive had a quick look at a couple of mags but nothing has inspired me yet so any ideas???

Im also getting bored with having Mean Beanz for lunch and wondered if anyone had any suggestions for some different lunch ideas for both red and green days?

Please don't weigh yourself every day, it does nothing but harm!

In order to see a true reflection of how your slimming campaign is working, you should only get weighed once a week at the same time of day, wearing the same (or similar) clothes.

The body is a complicated piece of machinery, and can show a different weight just about every hour of the day. This is perfectly normal due to fluctuations in fluid retained within the tissues, but can have a very detrimental effect on your eating.

Stick with the plan 100%, drink plenty of water, have faith and you will lose weight without resorting to unhealthy obsessions with the scales.

Obsessednewbie - the same applies with your apparent weight gain really. It's almost impossible to gain 5lbs of fat in 5 days, so most of what you see is water, which, if you stick to plan, will come off as quickly as it went on. Drink lots of water, to help flush it through and you'll be fine.

As a point of interest and using calories which at SW we generally don't mention, it takes 3500 calories over and above the 2000 allowed for the average woman to maintain her weight in order to gain a pound of fat. So to gain 5lbs of fat in 5 days, you'd have to consume around 27500 calories in that time.............that's an awful lot of food!
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

    hi flat eric,
try the mushed up cauli instead of rice, i did last night, and it was yummy, i really enjoyed it.
lunches i have for green days are the mug shots noodle ones,
hm soup (lob veggies in a pan, with 1pt stock made with jar bovril and simmer),
rice quiche (cook a pack of savoury rice, stick in a flan tray thingy, mix in 2-3 eggs, and bake till firm),
potato wedges and a hm salsa type dip (finely chop tomatoes, onions, and peppers, mix up and leave overnight, add any herbs or spices you like, i tend to stick with garlic, but i'm sure someof you are more adventurous.)
jacket potato always good, with beans, or mushy peas, or my latest favourite mint sauce mixed into mayonaise.
tomato and herb pasta n sauce, made up and added veggies (i stick a handful of frozen mixed veggies in to up my veggies intake, makes it go further too)

i don't do red days but i'm sure someone will come along and help on that soon.

    hope someof this helps,

    160
