Well tickets are going to be distributed soon so who thinks it is OK to sell them on ebay for a profit? Or those who do it should be condemned to hell?

If I got any tickets but couldn't go I would sell them on ........but my own morality would have me NOT profit from it and the money would go to charity
but that's me0 -
live 8 are employing lawyers to watch out for anyone selling them on ebay there was something in the papers last week about it. i guess the best thing is not to do it but go along and enjoy it and know that some of your moiney is doing someone good!Wins so Far: 21" lcd monitor, 6 day all expenses paid holiday to China, 8800GTX gfx card, 2x Panasonic cameras, 12 cups and Loads of Twix's, Coffee Lovers Hamper - Wild bean cafe. I'm not completely sure on this one, part of me is saying that so long as the charity gets the initial payment then why not gain yourself a little profit its not like the charity will actually lose out and if you don't someone else will!
But can also see the other side to the coin where its wrong to do it - kind of like having a friend/relative who has died and selling their possesions with glee & reaping the profits - its just wrong....
but.... i'm sure the friend would have wanted you to benefit....
as so the argument continues (and thats just me!)...
Personally I think might be tempted especially if I genuinely couldn't go and could get something out of it for the family (charity begins at home and all that) whilst also having given to the original charities then everyones a winner.... well except the poor person buying the tickets! Oh I dunno, I give in!Official DFW Nerd 2100 -
Difficult one really. If they are so worried about people selling the tickets on ebay, why dont they release the tickets on ebay themselves. People on ebay will only pay the market rate. The reason that they wont do this is that the promoters will be making a massive amount per ticket effectively when you think of the number of text messages at £1.50 each compared to the number of tickets they will actually issue, much more than they would if they just ebayed the lot off.
If one of those lucky 76,500 people wants to sell their ticket then i dont see what the problem is there. The promotors have already made a small fortune for that ticket.0 -
The chances of winning the ticket will be slim, so by simple supply and demand they will end up for sale. As far as selling them goes I think people should list them as charity auctions rather than for personal gain.0

Just because demand outweighs supply, it does not naturally follow that winners then have to sell their tickets.
If all those who enter want to go, there will be 76,500 winners who will use their tickets and thus zero tickets for sale.
Those who have genuine reasons for not being able to attend would have no difficulty onpassing to friends, thus, any for sale will simply be profiteering.

The way i see it is that if you have something that you want to sell then you should be allowed to sell it.
Anybody winning them and selling them through Ebay would be mental, as a previous poster said Live 8 have a team of researchers trawling though Ebay and other avenues to ensure that these tickets are not sold. Those doing this will be prosecuted.0 -
If they are SO bothered about people selling tickets they would have them printed with the users name, ie 100% non-transferable and you could only get in with ID on the day. That way they couldn't be sold on.
I wonder if the organisers will also be concerned about the various food and drink vendors onsite on the day - will THEY be non-profit, too, or will everyone have to fork out £1 for a can of drink?
Just being Devil's Advocate as I have no interest in going0
