Sony Credit Card

I applied for the card last weekend when the reward for taking out the card was a Walkman MP3 Player - 11000 reward points. This I saw advertised on the moneysaving.com web site. I received the card very quickly and authorised it yesterday. Today I had a 'welcome' letter informing me that I was to receive a CD Walkman worth 8,600 points as a reward. I telephoned Sony, and to cut a very long story short they asked me to put the facts in writing as they could not see any evidence of the 11,000 points offer on their systems! I wondered if any one else out there has had a similar experience? :mad:

I got my Sony card this morning but it did not say anything about how many points I would be awarded. I applied when it was 11000 so that is I what I expect to get. However as with most of these offers it will probably be a battle to get what they promised. :mad:0

I also registered as soon as I saw the alert, and I checked - as Martin recommended - that the webpage stated 11,000 points before following through with my application. Just received my stuff through the post, also saying I'm only getting 8,200 points :mad:
Martin - any chance of getting some justice for those of us who've been skimped by Sony?? I'm really not sure I would have bothered signing up just for £35 worth of goods rather than £60 worth.

Any chance it said up to 11,000 points?
Honestly, no. I scrutinise all offer details like this very carefully - and given Martin's warning to check that the link page stated 11,000 points before signing up, I was careful to do so. I thought about whether it would be worthwhile doing the application, and decided that for £60 worth of mp3 player, it would.
I don't have an mp3 player and would like to have one but can't justify the expense when I already have a CD walkman - but for the spec of the mp3 player that was noted as being available for the 11,000 points I was supposed to get, a few minutes of my time seemed worthwhile.
To now be fobbed off with less points, and have the company appear to be taking the route of bare-faced denial of ever having offered 11k in the first place is pretty insulting. I don't mind if I miss out on an offer because I'm not quick enough to take it up before it's withdrawn - that's reasonable. But when I've been offered something, and have signed up for their product on the basis of that offer then I expect to get what I've been promised!For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also ...0 -

Would a balance transfer count towards the points0 -
Brilliant, that's just what I needed for backup - I'll call them later. I wondered if I should have taken a screenshot when I registered for the card, but I foolishly assumed that I wouldn't need to prove that I had been offered the 11,000 points since it was on the page that I registered from.For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also ...0 -
I usually take screenshots as a matter of course if I sign up to anything. Not so much because of reneging as because half the time CS doesn't know anything about the offer

Which letter was it that said you're going to be given 8,200 versus 11,000 points? I've got my card, activated it and spent a bit on it (as little as I can get away with as I intend to stooze a balance transfer onto it and the spend will accrue interest!). However, I can't find anything in any of the literature I've had so far which actually mentions the Pulse Points. I've had;
- approval by email
- pin by snail mail
- card by snail mail; this included T&Cs, but these were the credit card related ones rather than Pulse Points
- insurance T&Cs.
Is there a danger I've not been given any Pulse Points?
Fella's screen shot is exactly what I signed up from...I really must stop loafing and get back to work...0
