Can I claim from credit card

Im currently in the process of chasing Bank of Scotland with my two bank accounts.
I was contemplating asking for my charges from y credit cards back, but just a little unsure what I can claim for. I used to get charged about £35 if I was over my limit, I know i can claim for this amount. But since the charges dropped down to £12 can I claim for these amounts as well.
Thanks

The original thread regarding claiming on Credit Cards was lost in a forum glitch so I've now merged a few more recent threads regarding credit cards.
Yes you can claim from credit cards just change the wording in the template letter to read you are claiming back late payment fees and/or over limit fees.
You can't claim back the interest you are charged for using your credit card.
As always have a look at the Reclaim Help Thread for addresses and links to relevant threads.

yes of course you can. The £12 was just an OFT figure plucked out of thin air. It has no substance in law and the banks still haven't justified even the £12, so claim away.

Hi, have a look at penaltycharges.co.uk they give you all the info you need for claiming back charges from credit cards/ store cards. I am in the middle of reclaiming from a credit card and store card - it's pretty much the same process as reclaiming from banks as far as i can see. Hope this helps.0

I have done my searching, but cannot seem to find a list of the charges that I can reclaim back from credit cards.
I am assuming they don't include interest - nor cash advance fees....
Thanks.0 -

You can reclaim Late Payment and Overlimit fees. Barclaycard have a nasty one called Out Of Order charge at a whopping £40 you can reclaim too. Cash advance fees and interest are not reclaimable though no. I dont know of any others you can reclaim sorry someone else might0 -

In view of the April 2006 OFT ruling, is it still worth trying to reclaim these, on the grounds that they are still higher than the probable actual £2-£3 cost of administering late payments? The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

YES!!
Lots of success stories for all manner of credit cards.
The fact is they just will not go to court and reveal true costs.

Even though, in my case, it is only for 2 x £12 and 1 x £20? (That's £44 for the mathematically-challenged!)The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

Hi there, I hope that I am posting in the right place, but I got some information today which might be helpful.
I have current accounts with RBS and also a credit card with them. Yet again, I have been hit with a late payment fee and I thought 'enough is enough' and went on the phone to try and sort it out.
My first call to credit card services was most unsatisfactory, so I called again. This adviser was able to tell me that if I called my local branch manager and got her to call credit card services, telling them that I was a good and important customer, they could refund the charges!
I have done this and she is going to give them a call. I have to point out that my local bank are wonderful and offer a service above and beyond the call of duty - eg they will call me if a payment or dd is going to bounce, so that I can prevent this happening!
I was about to download letters etc from this site to post to the powers that be... It seems that I may not have to! I just thought that this might be a good option for you moneysavers out there to get your cashback!
I will let you know if this approach works!
