in Credit cards
As regulars will know Capital One has had some special direct mailings of its current 18 months 0% card but otherwise its possible to get (see this). Well commercial price comparison service MoneySupermarket currently has a direct link to apply, however it only has a very tiny tranche and it is likely to be used up within hours (the card isn't available any other way unless you get invited to apply or a mail shot from a magazine)
So go quick
NOTE ADDED 23/3/05 - THESE LINKS HAVE NOW FINISHED
What if the links don't work?
Then you're too late, it has run out. These should take you direct to capital one, if it takes you to MoneySupermarkets credit card page then it no longer can link you.
I won't be putting this in the article or in the tip as the supply would run out in seconds, i thought i'd just leave it for regulars here.
Martin
Note: The above links are help MoneySavingExpert.com stay ad-free and free to use, as they’re ‘affiliated links’ which invisibly take you via commercial price comparison services like Moneysupermarket or Find, which then pay this site per click. The second type don’t help, but is listed so you can choose.
You shouldn’t notice any difference, the links don’t impact the product at all and the editorial line (the things I write) is NEVER impacted by the revenue. If it isn’t possible to get an affiliate link for the best product, it is still recommended and still included. I was just coming here to look for a recommendation on a card that I could put £1200. I applied for the 18 months one but unfortunately I got"Thank you for applying for a Capital One Credit Card.
At this time we are unable to confirm a decision regarding your application.
We would like to look at your application on an individual basis to ensure an accurate decision is made. We will write to you with a decision in 10-14 working days.
While you are awaiting our decision, please do not submit further applications to us, as making multiple applications could adversely affect your credit rating.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this delay may have caused.
I've got everything crossed that I can get one as this will save us the £16+ a month in interest we are currently paying on our Natwest Mastercard and would mean the balance will easily be paid off within the 18 month period while allowing me to put money towards other higher APR loansCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
I got the same message as you, Nicki, I'm guessing they must be inundated with people trying to get this deal. Their system didn't automatically pick my address up using house number and postcode, though, so I guess that might be one of the reasons they want to assess the app in more detail. Here's hoping we get it!0
