amazingly I closed my old capitol one card (ran out a month or so ago on the 0%) the day before Martin posted the link to the 18month BT one. I thought what the hell and try for it.
I got the letter of conformation for the 18month BT card the same day I got a letter saying sorry I didnt want to be capitol one customer any more. I know have the Platimun card
Funny world these CC companies0 -
Got mine now, nice guys at Capital One even gave me a higher credit limit so can transfer even more balances for 0%0

adam, that's the greatest. I have just got my card too. I was turned down the first time, but accepted this time. Moral: Try again if you didn't get last times!0

as long as people remember to only use this card for balance transfers and not buying anything as what ever you buy will be charged 14.8 % interest or something simular, and this will need to be paid before the bt.
so if you still have to buy something, use your old card and then add that balance transfer onto this card also.what is the plural of moose?

hi
just to let everyone know the earlier post which said I had a direct link to Cap 1 18 month 0% offer has been pulled by Cap 1
I am getting a few people PM for the link , but it is no longer active
good luck finding the deal on a promotional leafletHelp enough people get what they want and you will automatically get what you want0 -
just got off the phone to cap one to see what my credit limit is, as i haven't received card just yet. £6000 - not as much as i had hoped for, but still £6000 of interest free credit for a whole year and a half! And quite good considering my last card with them, which i cancelled only 2 months ago, only had a £200 limit!
i'm happy0 -
applied by post, asking for bt's to egg (8k) and virgin (6k). They have sent me back a card, only a week later, 18month acceptance with 10.5k limit. i gotta phone them and activate the card, think i'll ask for a credit increase at the same time
edit: called them to activate the card and enquired about making the BT's, they informed me that £10498 of bt's already processed. i would have thought they would have given me a higher CL so that there's more than £2 left on the card though?0 -
loggged onto egg, and sure enough, my egg card was 8k in credit, so have BT'd it
virgin so far are not showing anything credited as yet...

i know some of you have said you may have asked for an increase on your credit limit on this card, has anybody tried and been successful? Is it worth giving a go?0

Need a bit of help regarding credit limits/balance transfer amounts requested.
My wife has been accepted for the 18 month online offer and I'm just about to send off her signed credit agreement/BT request.
She earns £17K (total household income is £49K) and does not have a card in her own name at the moment, although she's an additional cardholder on my day-to-day card. I have just obtained Egg & Virgin cards with a total stoozed amount of £22K (plus YB Goldcard with £7.6K limit/£1K balance which will be paid as always at the end of the month), and we're asking for a BT from MY Egg card.
Both our credit history's (sp?) are good with long address and bank periods
My question is how much should we "realistically" ask to BT?
1/ The full Egg balance (£12.5K)
2/ 1/3 of her salary (which was what I negotiated for each of my cards)
3/ Some other amount
We're keen to maximise the BT (esp as 18 months) but don't want any embarrassment with asking for too much.
Finally, when they search her records will they realise that she does not own a card of her own, ie the Egg card that we're BT'ing from?0
