  • Sound good, but I'm expecting a useless credit limit of less than £1,000. Perhaps it went through because their system wasn't overloaded at gone 10.30 at night?

"CONGRATULATIONS - your application has been approved!

    What will happen next?
Within 7-10 working days, you will receive two copies of your Credit Card Agreement through the post. Please read them thoroughly, then:

Step 1 - Sign and return one copy in the pre-paid envelope provided
Step 2 - Keep the other copy for your records
Step 3 - Within 7-10 working days of us receiving our copy of the Credit Card Agreement, you will receive your welcome pack. This will include your card and notification of your credit limit.

Look out for this letter in the post which contains your Credit Card Agreement."

Still, brilliant find, and TVM to Martin. Good luck to those still waiting.

sounds like it could be the address although if you have been accepted for credit in the past at your house then maybe not??
i applied as it is now 22.55 and the offer is still on , i got the 10-14 days decision.

dont know why, i have my own house, earn 26k and wanted to transfer 2.3k.

odd. just hope the other half hasnt been spending money she doesnt have and has buggered my credit up.

  • i think the 10-14 day message (which i just got) might pertain to how big a BT you request.
I applied for a cap one last year and got, wait for it.....a £250 limit! i cancelled immediatley of course. but i think if their system doesn't like tha amount you put in to BT it gives out the 10-14 day message. i tried to BT 3300 from Egg and 6500 from MBNA as both run out in may and june respectively

many thanks for the heads up on this.. have applied to transfer a balance from the old Barclaycard 0% last August. Got the 10-14 day wait but fingers crossed is ok
  • Hoorah - managed to get through on the link eventually. I think I had problems because I use an Apple Mac computer rather than a PC, I was just getting a blank page every time. Emptied the cache and tried again and it worked - not feeling so dense now.

Thanks Martin - agreement coming in 7-10 days, tho bet it's a low credit limit! Still it all helps to fill the coffers.

Could it be that Cap 1 applications are being 'post code selected' for applications that have been submitted online that have had 'we will reply within 10-14 days' and not immediately accepted (like the NHS with certain things)? If so and anyone can access the deal through moneysupermarket, is that legal? If someone applies for the offer and has good credit rating etc. and would normally be accepted with another card provider, surely that's not right? Something funny going on here methinks....

Even if there was a balance transfer fee I'd rather pay 2% now than pay an APR of 17.47% (approx) over the next 18 months on the £1200 I want to transfer.

I applied in my name, but we've only been here 9 months and our previous address for about 3 years so that may be why I got the "wait" message.

If I don't get this one I'll have to look elsewhere. I'm sick of the interest charge going up due interest being charged on a £850 insurance purchase! Boy have I learnt my lesson with that :(

I got the "wait and see" message also. I did have a capital one card a few years back and thought i cancelled it, but i hadnt. I only got around to cancelling it last august, so maybe its too soon to apply for anther one.

I put down id like to transfer 12k from egg, so will see what credit limit they offer. I have an 8k limit with egg, 15k with mbna and 6k with mint, with a perfect repayment history.
