Just a suggestion because this thread is now at 8 pages already - it is of no benefit to anyone to say "got the 10-14 day message". So many posts say it and very little else.
May just be an idea to post important issues relating to this offer, problems in applying etc, otherwise it just becomes a pointless and repetitive thread of very little interest to anyone. I realise it was started by Martin but I've read most of the posts and got tired of reading the same thing!!!0 -
Just a quick Q if anyone can help - hubby has already applied for this last week via a leaflet, but I mentioned it to my mum who is in the process of clearing her cards ready for retirement in about 18 months. She only has her Barclaycard left but had a Capital One which she closed down in February, is it worth her while applying for this or will it be a guaranteed no seeing as she only closed her account with them last month? None of the T&C's or FAQ's mention anything not re-applying if you've recently closed an account, only if you've been refused in the last 6 months.

thought I was too late, but after minutes of butterflies flapping in my stomach, they said yes, and posting agreement to sign, thanks martin0

Just applied and have been accepted, was'nt holding out too much hope as I had only cancelled my previous Capital One Card 3 months ago. I must be one of the lucky few as my wife has the original 18 month deal as well...0

I tried the 18-month online offer last time. When I got the '14 day' message I was eventually refused. My parents got the 'instant accept' message. I don't know anyone who got the 14-day message who was finally accepted, so if anyone does get accepted having got this message, please let us know.0

I went for the 18 month one (realised after I'd have preferred the 12 month one, as I don't have much to transfer - i pay off my cc every month). I got the 10-14 day message, too. Called them on their general enquiries line and was told that I have been accepted and a credit agreement is being sent out to me. Was also told that they could stop my application for the 18 month card and I could apply for the 12 month card without it affecting my credit rating. Wasn't so sure about this being true, so just left it at the 18 month card.
Incidentally, I only applied 20 minutes ago! They were able to tell me over the phone that I'd been accepted, even though the website gave me the "10-14 days" message.
Thanks Martin. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

Hmmm, spured on by your post my wife just called up and was told that her application hasn't been looked at yet and a decision will be made in 4-5 days time, the plot thickens!0 -

OK, Just called them again. Was told I have been "provisionally" accepted (subject to the usual cross checks, whatever that means) and that they are sending out a credit agreement to me. They also confirmed that there is no fee for BTs on the 18 month card and that you can BT at any time during that 18 month period at 0% interest.
One more thing to note: I was also told that the card you get may be different to the one you applied for.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

Tahnks Martin for post the link. I came to the site to find out a BT deal because my MBNA one is nearly end. Although I cannot apply for the Capital 18 month one because I'm still in a 18 months deal with them, I applied one for my wife and got approved immediately. Now I'm going to enjoy my Easter Holiday.0
