Morning all....

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 29.1.07. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread
after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

I've been to bed, honest I have!! Unfortunately sleep eluded me, so in times of such emergency I did what many normal peeps do and visited the kitchen for a nice cuppa and something scrummy to eat....and of course visit here too.

It's back to w*rk for me today...have been off with the flu and a chest infection - still not over the chest infection, but I'm no good to man nor beast parked on my butt at home all day. Hopefully they will let me sit somewhere warm and undrafty.

AussieLass - don't know if you're managing to read whilst you get yourself sorted...not long now and you'll be here freezing your nubbins off, lol.

I hope everyone is well and has a fantastic Monday. (BTW anybody seen Kethry lately??)

    Morning Snowy.
Can't sleep either and wondering if it's worth going to bed as i'm up at 7 anyway. Think it's going to be a long day. Have been productive in the last hour though and BM, WM and yogi maker are all on. Once kids are packed off to school I'll clear up the debris from the weekend. Then work from 12-3. Pick up kids and try to take them for a walk (weather permitting)
Hope everyone has a lovely day.

I've slept badly last night, OH has been wandering around unable to sleep , ds2 didn't settle until 1am and dd had tummy ache.
Just having a coffee now before a shower and then get everyone fed and dressed before I leave for work.I am not looking forward to the walk to work as it is uphill most of the way but I am hoping it will do the weightloss campaign the world of good.
Another no-spend day yesterday but the tumble dryer has packed in so my 'I know a man that can' will probably have to be paid later on today.
There is left over stew for OH's dinner and I think I will pull out a seabass from the freezer and do something with it when I get home later.
I also plan to wizz round the house and tackle some of the sewing piled up in the dining room.
    Have a good day everyone.

    Good morning everyone.

I'm sat here with porridge with banana and maple syrup in it and it is YUM!

I took a batch of bolognaise into work yesterday, there is enough left for lunch today for us so food is sorted. Found a forgotten bagel in the freezer, so that is 2nd breakfast sorted too... yes, I am a hobbit.

Hugs to all who would like/need one - love the piccy smokybabe and the 25 wotsits yesterday were great N9eave

Time I was in the shower.

Edited to share this with you - as I was logging off I heard a small noise outside, went to investigate - most of the lights still turned off - and found a fox curled up, fast asleep and sort of snoring on an overhanging bit of the fleece covering my biggest plant pot! Wierdest bedding plant I've ever had! :)

    Bye for now
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

Morning. Usual routine. Get up early, log and check e-mails and Ebay sales... Bit poor this week. Too many things to relist! Then shower, 3 weetabix and off to work for 7.30.
My birthday this week. Thursday.... I hope a few pressies will come my way. . The house is currently in a real mess. I am decorating the daughters' bedroom and so the contents of it are spread about the house. I hope to get it finished soon, but being at work and getting home late, you just don't want to start painting.

Live now. Make now always the most precious time.
    Now will never come again.

  • Hi everyone

Up early, again, my Monday morning 04:15. Errr do I have to get up and do the trading report?

Well I'm sitting at my desk in Paddington with a nice hot cup of tea and a digestive biscuit, which, by the way, I'm not supposed to eat. What the hell, it's Monday, dark, damp and cold, but I've made it this far.

The weekend went really well, Bloke's Birthday cake went down a treat. I didn't use the shortening in the butter icing as the recipe suggested and for my first really big project bake, it came out really well. The Blue Man Group was very good too; this was a surprise, as I was secretly not looking forward to it, I would now recommend it.

Yesterday we were at my parents for a lovely roast dinner, Bloke got upset at the football result, he is from Nottingham. I started moving more boxes from the garage back to the flat. Loads of wool and stuff, I’m going to have a sort out, eyes all ablaze at the thought making gift dolls to sell at work and the amount in ££££’s that I could possibly make on ebay with all my errm, ‘Junk’. There are enough books there to stock a small library. Note to self, do not to buy any more books till these are read and recycled. Speaking of books, Waterstone’s online are doing a 10% off anything online today and tomorrow. I think the code is on the forum somewhere if you want to search for it. Go through Quidco you’ll get another 10% cash back, pay with your MS card get another 1% cash back, worth a go if you need anything no postage if you have it delivered to your local store. I’m after an Alvin Hall Book at £4.99, now is that saving or not, may look first see if anyone has it on readitswapit.

Anyway, look at the time, better finish off my spreadsheet. Oh the joy’s of a Monday Morning.

See you all later; hope you all have a wonderful day.

    Good morning everyone,

Back to work this morning, 2 LOs here, and i want to pop over to Waitrose once ive dropped my 2 off at school, and they like going there.
House is clean after yesterdays big clean, so not much to be done, unless i do something 'mucky' with the LOs (although i prefer crayons to paint!)
Still dark outside, so not sure what the weather is doing, think its meant to be sunny later tho.
Right, off for a quick browse while i finish my cuppa and wait for first LO.
    Have a lovely day,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
  • Morning all! Well, it's been a great weekend in the House of Penguin. We went to a ceilidh in our village on Saturday night - 20 of us in the party. I danced every dance with a variety of partners ;) The small penguins loved it and are really keen to go again next year. The couple I introduced came along and appeared to be getting on really well :T :j I've spoken to her since (she came for breakfast on Sunday) and she's very keen. He's a friend of DH, but being chaps, they don't discuss such things

We had some friends stay over on Saturday, and after all the Flying I've been doing, that was a breeze :j Made blueberry muffins and welsh cakes for breakfast, which went down very well, still warm. One couple are getting married in August in York (very convenient) and have asked DD13yo to be an usher. She's very honoured, but is pleased as I've promised her that I'll buy her a frock (it doesn't have to come from her allowance). Main problem is something for DS11yo. He does smart casual, but not *smart*. We'll find a compromise somewhere :D

Shez, did you sort your inbox prob? Off to read my messages now; have a few overnight, I see.

N9eav - will have to go and read yesterday's thread...........intrigued by 25 wotsits.........

Have a great day, Penny. x
