Travellodge filthy dirty room and broken windo,Need telephone number

I booked a room with travellodge and arrived friday evening as it was only £15.00 for a treat for my daughter.

We arrived left our bags and went out shopping when we came back and looked over the room it was filthy and smelly,The window lock was broken and i caught my hand on the screw.
There was mens body fluids!!! on the carpet,There was crumbs of food on the sides The carpet didn't look like it had been hovered, dirty net curtains The mattress that my daughter was supposed to sleep on made her sick so we all had to lay on our towels and share the double bed.Broken bedside table.Etc Etc
I took photos but i am unable to find a telephone number to contact the head office,I complained to the reception staff who told me to take a complaint form and her manager will read it.
I did only expect a basic room for £15.00 but i did expect it to be clean and safe.
To take there minds of it i paid for a movie but the tv lead was broken so unable to watch the movies after paying £6.00
I didn't sleep all night.
Where do i stand?
Who do i need to contact?
If anyone knows of a telephone number or what should i do to complain i would appreciate any help please

  • sorry if this sounds mean but surely it is better to politely ask for another room / embarass your daughter or did she prefer sleeping in a disgusting room?

Most travelodges I am sure if you asked woudl have allocated you a different room or attempted to sort the problem out there and then

sounds a vile experience but you really should have been brave and asked for a replacement at the time

  • there is a contact webpage you can email via or

pressoffice@travelodge.co.uk and ask them to forward your complaint as customer.relations@travelodge.co.uk is not working

  • I complained to Travelodge (filthy room, stinking of smoke in a non-smoking room, broken heater, broken bed, inedible breakfast, a don't-care attitude when we complained at the hotel at the time, fire doors wedged open) and I sent a letter to:

    Travelodge Customer Services
    Sleepy Hollow
    Aylesbury Road,
    Thame,
    Oxon,
    OX9 3AT

They didn't bother replying but they refunded the cost of the room and breakfast back to my debit card.

I also emailed the local fire brigade who did reply to me, telling me they had visited the premises and taken action regarding the fire doors. We counted four sets on two floors wedged open, we didn't check any other floors, that was enough.

where were these hotels, just so we can avoid them!! I stayed in a £15 room in London, was fine so I'm tempted to book another, but am now having second thoughts!

We've stayed in a few, and they've all been basic but very clean.

Not many facilities, but, they are cheap and handy as a half way stop on a journey.

Best thing to do in future is to complain at the time and get a room change.
