:hello: Gooooooood Morning fellow OS’ers

Wee bit earlier than I’d planned, but as it’s back to school this morning it’s one of those “worried I’ll oversleep” days – well, we have been rather lazy and not getting up to an alarm for a couple of weeks so a bit out of practise  - trouble is, I’ve ended up waking up and not being able to return to sleep :wall:
Not looking forward to today with the lads going back, the house always seems soooooooo empty and quiet. I’m one of those Mum’s who doesn’t tick of the days they are on school holiday in a keen rush for them to return! Ho hum!
Mind you, I’ve already got a mental picture of how I’d like to spend my day once I get over the fact they’ve gone
I’m going to throw the windows open wide today and get some fresh 2007 air into the house. Between being away and the winds we’ve had, it hasn’t been practicable, but I feel the need of a good airing.
Then it will be a good hoover round, behind and beneath furniture, which will also count towards a workout today :rotfl: Still need to find homes for some of the gifts Santa brought me, so I’m going to put some of the items into my Pamper Basket and then tidy up the bathroom shelves and make a display of some of the bath products on there.
While all that is being done, I shall leave the bread machine to do it’s own thing and make some Calzones for the freezer/packed lunches with the remainder of the odds n ends in the fridge, then give the fridge a bicarb wash down. That should keep me nicely occupied I should think

((hugs)) for those who need/want them and wishing you all a wonderful moneysaving Wednesday

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 2nd January 2007. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Back to the "dark when I leave the flat and dark when I get home" type of days. I much prefer to wake up with the sun, but at least I can feel the days beginning to get longer again
Wanted to wish you all a quick hello while I munch toast and coffee. Not much OS is going to happen for me today but at least I'll be reaping the benefit of my OSing sessions over the holidays, my freezer is stuffed to bursting with HM ready meals.:D
Place is reasonably clean and tidy so I just have to try to keep it that way - easier said than done!
Right, Brekkie (HM toast with HM butter) has been scoffed so it's off to the pit face for me.
Have lovely days everyone, hugs to all who would like one.My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead
Proud to be a chic shopper

'Morning Queenie, Kyle, RacyRed and all who follow :hello:
Just popping on whilst I make a cup of tea and start the day. Will be aiming to set the slow cooker off before we set off for a trip to the coast. I'm not back at work until next week as I saved up some leave to have a good long break of two weeks.
We are going to the coast to blow the cobwebs away, get some sea air and a plate of egg and chips :rotfl:
Have a lovely OS day everyone!Enjoying an MSE OS life0 -
 Morning! Why the angry face? Well I have been waiting to get some time off since Christmas to go to the sales and look for a few things. So yesterday was the day to do just that.
First thing was I could not get anyone out of bed, and then I get temper trouble from the teen daughter who did not want to go as she has spent all her money and so did not want to shop anymore.
Anyway I decided to get the train for a change, as the prices in the south west have actually gone down not up! With a local rail card it makes it cheaper than the car for the 40 mile trip to Plymouth.
The train was delayed by 30 minutes..... Once on the train it seemed to be crawling along at a snails pace. Then the announcement came over the speaker that the rear engine had broken down and the front engine was struggling to pull us all up the hills. (the train was rather full). We did get there very late, where they put on a new train for the ongoing passengers.
By now it's well past lunch.
I get a hamburger and start to look about...
The sales seem well advertised and I am anticipating a bargain or 2, but the more I look the more depressed I get. Plenty of womens stuff... Nothing for the average bloke. Unless you are a giant or dwarf, forget finding a bargain!
Meanwhile I spend most of my time trying to drag the missus out of the Next sale.
Suffice to say I came home with nothing other than used train tickets and a small bag of chocolate raisins.
The OH made some soup for supper out of the leftover veggies and meat... that was deadly, those sprouts now liquidised proved to be quite powerfull.
So here we are.... Do i risk going shopping today? trouble is someone gave me £20 M & S vouchers... Don't know what to spend it on. Fancied a couple of shirts, but the only sale shirts were size 14 or 18 collar... Like i said dwarf or giant.
We will see....NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Good morning everyone,
Queenie - i know how you feel, i love having my 2 home, but im lucky, they dont go back until Monday!!!
Mind you, little one due in the next 10 minutes, so back to the early mornings for me!!! Just 2 little ones today, and they like having my 2 here, although they often escape upstairs when they have had enough, which is why im glad upstairs is out of bounds for the little ones!!!!
Trying to stick to moggins flylady challenge, and so far, so good - managed to do all the paperwork that i had been putting of for months now, so feeling really pleased with myself. Today is the kitchen, and im determind to sort out the drawer that is full of goodness knows what!!!!
Right, better get moving, like i said, little one due anytime now.
Hope everyone has a lovely day,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Good Morning everyone!
Well, a good day yesterday, full of lovely fee paying clients (always helps in January!) with flylady challenge in between.
I am still battling my way through the ice cream out of the freezer - purely in the interest of obtaining tubs for batch cooking you understand. And I realised that the brandy double cream is in a container with a lid, so have to FORCE myself to include that in my ice cream bowl. Oh the difficulties in being OS.....;)
Today I have clients this morning, then my cleaner comes at 12.30 so I need to do a bit more flyladying - I am trying to get to the point where she is surplus to requirements (the cleaner, not flylady!) but I am some way off yet.
Then off for a bit of a ski this afternoon and supper and a giggly girlie chat with a friend. - Making the most of the DH and children being away this week!
Have a good day everyone, don't get blown away if you are heading outside!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

hugs to all xx0 -
Well the New Year has really started. DH back to working away during the week, so house now quite empty...
N9eav - I haven't ventured out to the sales yet and your tale does not encourage me!!
I have lots of veg festering in the veggie drawer, so will try Queenies calzones. Other than that, it is flyladying with Moggins and buddies, so must go and see what the challenge is today.
HAve a good daay everyone,
