Penny-Pincher!!
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 11th December 2006. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning Guys!
We have just got in and its our 13th wedding anniversary today:j :j So many people said we wouldnt make it....and we did:D
Its been months since I started this thread and Ive probably broken the rules as I havent gone to bed yet:p
Anyway, Im off to bed as Im shattered, but WM is on with a load and DW has been put on before we go up to bed...so some OS done already:eek:   ...and its only just after midnight.
Hope everyone has a good sleep.
Hugs to all.

to Mr and Mrs Penny-Pincher! And wishing you many more! Hope you have a lovely day!
Well I've not posted for some days, just been running around too much. Funny though I don't seem to have made much progress
Have got a really busy few days coming up. My old peoples Lunch Club are having the Christmas Lunch on Wednesday, and there's so much still to prepare. Most of tuesday will be spent buying and preparing a ton of veggies, as well as the other 3 courses! We do like to put on a bit of a feast!:D And all home-cooked ( well Church-cooked if I'm being accurate)
Still way behind with present shopping, I really will learn my lesson for next year. Problem is, lots of my "receivers" want the latest DVD, CD, Toy etc so can't really get these too far in advance.
Snowy hope you've had a good visit with your friends. Had a good laugh at all the packing you had to do for your furbabies:D Hope they also enjoyed the change of scene. Must be lots nicer than the cattery!
Zed42, I've always found a staircase most useful for reaching upstairs!!! Hope you have one soon!
Well I'm going to get off to bed soon. I'll be up to go to the gym just after 6am. Then got to go and get Chrissie presents for the old dears at lunch club, will be a plant each. ( Well it suits men and women, and lasts longer than cut flowers etc)
((((hugs)))) to those who are having tough times, or are feeling poorly.
AussieLass it's been some time since we had a photo update on the house! Hint, hint.
Bye for now, CMxx

Hi Penny Pincher, Zed, Chruchmouse and everyone to follow. :hello:
I had a busy weekend…..lots of Christmas bits and pieces sorted out. I was beginning to panic because I was a bit behind, but I feel a little bit more on top of things now.
Tomorrow we're going to see our six year old in the school Christmas play. He’s playing Rudolph and he's so beside himself with excitement that it was hard work getting him into bed tonight. I've put a bundle of tissues in my bag as a precaution because Christmas plays always makes me a bit emotional.
Later I have to plan for Ds1's birthday next Monday. With his birthday so close to Christmas…..even though I’ve known it's coming all year, it's always a last minute dash to get his presents. Surprisingly he loves having his birthday seven days before Christmas….he says that it means that he realises that Christmas is really going to happen! He may be much taller than me and about to become a teenager but he’s still very much a child at heart.
Penny-Pincher, I hope you had a lovely anniversary.
Churchmouse, thanks for posting.....I feel better knowing I'm not the only one who's behind with Christmas.
Tootles, to post a picture have a look here. I can't wait to see your latest quilt.
Mrs A, I hope you feel better soon.
Moggins, I hope you’re feeling a bit better and have talked to your Dh about how he behaved and how he made you feel.
I hope you are all well and have a good start to the week.

Hey all! :hello:
I've been chilling out after a good day clearing out old stuff from my flat. In the morning I'll take loads to the charity shop nearby.
I'll be going to work at around 10-ish on surveys, then yet another business lunch (honestly I'm sick of eating), then some more surveys and hopefully back home early evening, when I'll do all my Xmas cards. All my presents are wrapped and ready.
On the way home I'll pop into Netto as I need some household stuff such as loo rolls etc.
In the clearout I found some packs of beans I'd forgotten about (I know, I know ) so I shall sprout them and in a few days I'll have a nice supply of fresh, healthy salad stuff
Have a good Monday everyone! :jBe careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
Morning everyone
I haven't been to sleep yet...it's annoying as normally I have a snooze and wake up round about this time.
ChurchMouse - I had a mixed reaction from the kitties when we went away for the night. One, Dylan, was a real scardy puss and wouldn't come out of his basket. I tried dragging him out to give him a cuddle and he ended up hanging off my back in his rush to get back to his basket. NB that was not off my clothes but off my back with his claws embedded. It was kind of sore!! However the other kitty, Teddy, was very much in his element with my friend's two children. He is a bit of an extrovert and he lapped up the attention, of which there was loads.
Otherwise, life is still boring boring boring!! I haven't even bothered to put up my Christmas tree yet - I promise I'll do that this week. I'll send my cards this week too - I have some to go abroad, so had better pick the "Happy New Year" ones to send to them.
Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs PennyPincher, many congratulations.
Have a wonderful Monday everyone.

Morning all :hello:
Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs Penny- Pincher
Had a nice day out yesterday with OH, popped into the old shop where I used to work and it was lovely to see some old faces again, it has however made me realise that I am unhappy with my lot at the moment, although OH is great, I feel really low all of the time and I think that my get up and go has gone
. Seeing my old work friends made me realise as well that other then my one friend, I have a very limited circle of friends which means I can go weeks without talking properly to people other than my OH and mum.
Feel as though I just want to take the day off to chill and try and work out a plan of attack, but being the boss and as its so close to Xmas I can't really. I have the day off tomorrow and I have a hair appointment so will plan to get some thinking done then. Any suggestions most welcome
Off to college as well tonight, again I really love my course but don't feel like I fit in with the others, have really lost my confidence, a few years ago I would have laughed if you had told me I would be feeling like this.
Well I suppose I should have a shower and get my pack up ready for lunchtime, get my college stuff together and have a quick tidy round so that its nice for OH when he gets in from work.
(((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))) to everyone that wants, needs or just feels like one.
Sorry for the moan, will try to improve

Morning All
Happy Anniversay PP & Mr PP
(((Amanda666))) - I assume that as you run your own business you do not work with anyone? I do too but because am up the school with my youngest have lots of friends there. Also go to college and altho went there to learn more have made more friends. Also have a regular monthly evening out with friends I used to work with - though must admit they do say I dont stop talking and it is because somedays between 9 and 3 I dont talk to anyone..lol.
Lots to do today OH is at home and will do the school run today yipee! Am still in my PJ's and plan to do some ironing and cleaning then will go and shower - hopefully no delivery men will call during the short time he is up the school.
Gonna deep clean a couple of rooms and then put the Xmas decorations up leaving the tree for when the children come home - hopefully it will be a good incentive for them to get there homework done pronto.
In a minute need to get something out of the freezer for dinner, will either be - chicken curry & tandoori drumsticks or pork chops j pots and roasted veg depending what I come across first! Still havnt sorted freezer for Xmas so must do that by Friday!
Hopefully will get a lot done today if not will be panicking (sp) for last couple of weeks head has been all over the place and have been more disorganised than ever. Looking forward to Xmas but between Xmas and New Year time seems to go more slowly and it will be my mission then to really sort myself out - will set up a household manual, set up Microsoft Money, start & do the challenges properley and really get all my budgets under control. Really want to have a new kitchen next year as altho loads of other rooms need doing the kitchen is where we and visitors seem to spend most of the time so decided it is a priority - can then get rid of my awful cooker too!!!
Anyway think Ive gone on a bit.....lol......have a great day.
Sorry Amanda666 have reread your post and see that you already go to college - when does that course finish? I think we all have lost our confidence at some time - mine was after having children - dont think I did anything specifically it just came back slowly -one thing tho have started exercising recently - horseriding and a class and altho sometimes I think I really dont want to go I force myself and as they say exercise does make you feel better - they recommend it for mild depression and in my case it worked. Good Luck .0 -
Good morning everyone! :hello:
Gosh - a lot of you have posted already!
I was up early (5.15 am) but decided to clear some of the ironing basket. It has been piling up a bit lately because we have been doing other OS things (wine making, batch cooking etc.). OH started to tackle it yesterday and I've continued this morning.
Did a mass of baking yesterday - so the freezer is well stocked.
Today it is w**k. Ah well, never mind. Five days until the weekend
(((( hugs to everyone who is need of one )))) I hope everything picks up for those who have been having difficult times lately.
Have a lovely OS day everyone :wave:Enjoying an MSE OS life0
