This is a continuation of the previous thread here
This thread is for any discussions on the Tesco policy regarding misprices. Please don't post misprice items in this thread but you can chat away to your heart's content here, leaving the other thread just for listing the 'finds'
Any misprices you find should be posted in this thread here. Thanks
Tesco Head Office telephone number is 0800 505555
Tesco Head Office address is
Sir Terry Leahy (MD)

(Thanks to Art over for this)
For new readers:
For clarification SEL stands for Shelf Edge Label and R and R stands for Refund and Retain. The Tesco policy on signs instore is :-
"And if things don't add up ~ In the unlikely event you are charged a higher price than on the shelf or the product we will refund your money and you can keep the product"
Compare the price per kilo on the pack with the shelf edge label price per kilo and where there is a difference the lowest price must be charged.
Thanks to !!!!!! Dastardly for providing the following information from the DTI website which summarises consumer rights in relation to misleading price indications:
Q1. I was charged a different price for an item at the till to the one that was shown on the shelf, what are my rights?
The Consumer Protection Act 1987 makes it an offence for a trader to give a consumer misleading price indications. In the first instance speak to the trader about the differing prices, if you are not satisfied with the response, contact your local authority trading standards department who enforce the Act and who could bring a prosecution against the trader.

I've started a new thread as the previous one was getting very long making it difficult for people to find the information easily.0

How do you find possible R&R's? Surely you don't write down the prices of the SEL's of everything you put in your trolley and then stand and check your list against your receipt once you've checked-out...?
I've looked but it's too cluttered and I can't find this info!
Why isn't there a dedicated sub-forum for the tesco stuff?0 -

CS instore were so nice and expecting me though they did ask me to give my name and address so I may have to stop r&ring there for a while. So glad I didn't take the offer of refund on game only offered last night.
do you know the person to whom you spoke to ? Mine is an xbox but if I cant get Kevin Kelly, I want to get through to some one else who can help.
if there are any others who have been successful in getting the xbox or psp refund by phone, would greatly appreciate it if you could either post or pm the names of the people you spoke to
ThanksI have learnt that living life to the fullest gives you a much better high than alcohol or drugs !0 -

There is no hard and fast rule of finding them, best to start off comparing pack prices (meat etc) to SEL's (see first post)
Then move on to offers that have just expired, but still have the promotional price listed.
If it goes through the till at the higher price - Bingo, if not "Woops I've forgoton my money!"
Have a good traul through this thread from start to finish, take about an hour or so, but you'll get all you need to know!Sig ah Sig Ahhh0 -
Great result, just had a call from Kevin Kelly. I just have to go back to the store for a refund for my Xbox.
Keep trying and you will succeed.

"I've just been to tesco's and the xbox core and the other one's are on offer could some please please check the codes to see if there are any issue ? My store don't have the scanners. On offer til 28/9/2006 ?"
If it's a similar offer to last time where you have to buy a bundle scanners won't show you if the offer kicks in.
You have to bite the bullet and take them to the checkout. If the offer kicks in you get a cheap xbox, if it doesn't you get a free one!
You can always forget your purse if the offer kicks in or take it back for a refund to CS.
Let us know how you go on, we'd all love a free xbox!!!!!!!0 -
Got an R&R tonight on a book karin slaughter Tryptych 8.97 stickered, was charged 9.97.
CS credited my debit card, but on her copy of the refund reciept she wrote my surname from my Debit card, then she asked me for my Post code? I panicked slightly and gave her my work postcode instead of my home one and she wrote this on her reciept. Is this common practice to ask for this?
Also can you be tracked as a r&r'er by using your clubcard? and is cash better than plastic for anonimity?
I was made to feel quite uncomfotable and wont be visiting this store for a while.
Sorry for posting this again but i got no reply to my queries0
