Does anyone have instructions for the fluffy scarves that were around last year? I'd like to have a go at knitting some.

I made one and the instructions were so basic it's unbeleivable, but the result was great. I used 6mm needles, cast on 20 stitches and then just plain knitting until you run out of yarn, and that's it! If you do stocking stitch (K 1 row, P 1 row) the scarf will curl up but you can't really tell what stitch has been used because of the fluffiness of the yarn. Mine was a yarn called "Rag Time" but these instructions are so simple they can be used for any kind of fancy yarn.
Hope this helps, and good luck with it if you are planning on knitting in this heat!Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

how much yarn do I need for an average length scarf?0

Hypervalue are selling balls of that fluffy wool for £1 a ball - which is (apparently) quite cheap.0

I've not heard of them. Where are they?0

Hi Liz, I used three balls of the fluffy wool. It depends on the yardage of the particular yarn you choose. Some are heavier than others, therefore you get less length per ball as yarn is sold by weight.

Bought some fluffy wool yesterday, and i've started a scarf off. Managed to cast on with no instructions: seems i do remember from when my Mum tried to teach me about 15 years ago!0

Lots of cheap shops and even wilkinsons are selling this fluffy wool for 99p a ball. Which is not a bad price.
I might have a go and make some christmas presents for people.

Is anyone up for a little knitting challenge?
As there seem to be lots of us doing the fluffy scarves, how about we see who can finish theirs first?
Only rules: must be the fluffy 'feather' type yarn, 150grams (3 balls) of wool on 6mm needles.
Any takers?0 -
Finished!!!

I'll start one but I need to finish the pair of socks I'm on at the moment.
Give me a few days and I'll be here with needles ready to go?0
