Morning everyone :hello:
Blimming typical that the first lie-in opportunity that I get all week and I'm still awake at "normal" time. Aaaaah well, just means that I can "get on"
with everything that little bit earlier...
My friend's wedding list went "live" this morning, so I've had a quick look before anyone else nabs the affordable stuff. What I would like to say is: what affordable stuff? When OH and I chose our list, most of our bits and pieces were under £25 with three things over that. My friend's list.... most things are over £25, including a camcorder  It means that we don't have much choice of what to buy. Obviously it's up to them what they put on, but we were conscious about not being too greedy and therefore not having anything too expensive on the list. What do you lot think?
Right, my plans for the day:
Get up (sat in bed with laptop at the moment )
Get passport photos taken for passport
Take passport to Post Office to get it sent off, otherwise no honeymoon for me
Plan work for next week in school
More loads of washing (?)
Go to friend's house in Suffolk and have a nice time
Have a good day everyone

Morning Guys!
Slept quite well last night:D
WM is on with a white hot wash, normally only one needed a week as I save all the underwear and tea-towels. Looks like its going to be dry, so will be hung outside. DW has been emptied and toilet cleaned. Rest of house is clean and tidy.
OH & DD are going to mow the lawns and do some weeding today. Back garden also needs tidying up as theres a few bits that just need binning or recycling out there
Im finishing up my essay hopefully today, sending the letter off for my SIL (trying to reclaim her bank charges back), maybe stick some stuff on Ebay and sort out my accounts.
We're going to friends for dinner tonight which wil be nice and we're treating them to a take-away:eek:.....to say thanks for looking after the bearded dragons. Hoping they wil say PizzaHut as all their pizzas are on BOGOF today as England are playing-so we could probably feed all of us including sides and salads etc for about £20:D...but I expect they will want Indian or Chinesse(sp)...lol
Anyway, Id best go. Hugs to all and have a good day everyone!
Breakfast: Ommelette with cheese and ham
Lunch: Tuna roll with salad
Dinner: Take-away

Lovely sunny day here. Pity I shall spend 6 hours of it in the office at work.
Not a lot of OS today, it always goes to pot on the weekends!

Morning all. Seems like lots of us are up, and not enjoying a lie-in.
Noticed that it's July. Where did June (and for that matter May and April) go?
Busy day today. Football club (under 11) barbie for 60, accompanied by England match on big screen. It's being held at the farm of some frineds, so we and 2 other families are pitching our tents in the orchard. How romantic! I'm baking chocolate, domestic godess cakes, and choc chip cookies.
Message later.

VickyA- I agree with you a mix of lower priced and higher priced items. If i was you i would just do your own thing and buy something you are happy about buying. If they are good friends they will appreciate it all the better as you choose it.
twink - You will love the slow cooker it will make your life so much easier.
joannasmum - Your cat sounds like a right tinker
PP - Does your DH what to come and do my garden as it looks like a wild medaow atm lol
Penelope Penguin - Sounds like you are going to have a fantastic day.
Morning all,
Got worken up today by the children playing downstairs. Why is it at the weekends they get up earlier then during the week.
Busy day today DD has a hour of Ocarina and maypole dancing then 3 hours of ballet practice. I am going to be so releaved when the ballet show is over next sat no more 40 mile round trips for practices.
Placed a ocardo order yesturday as they sent me a £20 off code.
I need to go to the shops today though as we have friends coming over for a bbq that was arranged last night.
I am going to go and fill up the paddeling pool in a min as it is going to be a hot one.

Morning All
Another fab sunny day here in Surrey.
Today is clean out the fridge (urgh), tidy the bedroom which looks like a disaster zone, then visit shops for a couple of balls of wool as a friend is going to teach me to knit next week :T & some Pimms as we have a posh lunch to go to tomorrow & I don't think I can get away with a bottle of wine as a hostess gift:p Shame as Pimms is sooooo expensive but I can't think of anything else suitable:rolleyes:. Oh, and I have a parcel to collect fromt eh sorting office & I can't for the life of me think what it can be so that will be a fun suprise:D
Vicky, I think a wedding list should either carry a big mix of items or else be one very expensive item like a work of art for example which everyone can contribute as much or as little as they like to with the bride & groiom making up any shortfall (I know several people who have done this now, a fab reminder of their day which will increase in value & means guests aren't under any obligation to pay more than they can afford) My wedding list was 10 years ago but we had some things as low as £5 each like very very posh kitchen utensils instead of the Argos ones which we had been using, (people were very generous & grouped several of these together in one pressie but they didn't have to) & bigger price things which groups of people clubbed together to pay for. I think the most expensive items were under £100 & we felt embarassed putting them on but didn't hesitate to let people know that we didn't expect them to buy them on their own but with other friends family. Would this be an option for you?

:hello: Morning!
I have managed to sell 3 books on Amazon :j since Wednesday! so have to go post the latest one this morning. After that will be shopping for bargains to fill the new chest freezer (including a big bag frozen peas as it has been impossible to get one of these into the upright freezer).
OH has promised to take me to a car boot sale tomorrow (hopefully he will be bringing me back:rotfl: ) so fingers crossed I get some bargains.
Vicky I agree with you, there should always be some little things on the wedding present lists, people should be aware that some folk don't have a lot of money to spare. Also sometimes children like to buy a little present as well and I doubt that many kids can afford £25. Enjoy your day in Suffolk.
Joannas mum - have you forgiven your furbaby yet? :rotfl: My old girl hasn't done that kind of thing for a long time.
Well off to check the freezer has worked and is nicely frosted ready for the food.

Lillibet - our wedding list sounds a bit like yours. We've got loads of things around the £5 mark on it eg smart kitchen utensils. A couple of people have bunched together some of the cheaper items, but we've only sent out the gift list info when people have actually requested it. Amazingly, loads of people have asked for it, which is very generous of them. In addition, we've got on there some smarter plates and bowls, which aren't THAT expensive individually. I'm really flattered that people have bought those already (I can check online how my "list" is going, which is lethal).
I've bought my friend two of the less expensive items on her list (two cushions) as I can't be doing with too much thinking at the moment.
