August 2010 Brides (& Grooms!)

Options
Hi everyone,

Really sorry if there is already a thread like this going (I couldn't find one?).

I just wondered who else out there is getting married in August 2010?

I have got to ring the Registrar on Friday to book it all in so feeling very excited at the moment but also very nervous in case other couples beat to me to the phone!

xx

  • I'm an August 2010 bride to be too! I've been reading the forums for the past couple of months since we got engaged but only just registered on here! I'm getting married on Friday 20th next year which will be mine and OH's five year anniversary!

What have you all done so far?

I've booked our venue and put down deposit, which means, the wedding venue, wedding breakfast venue and evening venue and all the food is sorted!

I've booked the registrar for the time and date but I haven't paid the £60 fee and had an appointment at my local office yet! Will I lose my booking if I don't do this soon?

I've provisionally booked a photographer, just got to send him a £30 deposit.

I've also booked the DJ, tried on some wedding dresses (which I'm hopefully going to order online from Landy or such like), and got an appointment with a chair cover lady.

There are loads of wedding fairs coming up near me so I'm hoping that will bring me more inspiration!

Have any of you sent out Save the Date cards yet? I haven't done that yet but I was thinking of just sending an email round to all that are coming to the day do (it's a Friday so people will need to book time off).

Anyway, enough of me waffling on. How are everyone else's plans coming along!

Originally I was a June 2011 bride to be, however we have been offered a cancellation spot on the 28 August 2010. (EXCITED!)

Do you think I'll be pushing it to get everything sorted?

I got engaged just over a week ago, and am planning to get married on 11th June 2010. :D (venue is provisionally booked, just need to see registrar before confirming)

Unless you're planning some high-class affair for 500 guests, a year to organise is plenty of time. I know someone who organised her wedding in three months (though she was getting married in January which made it easier with availability of everything!).
