The Lloyds "Disappreciation" thread

After reading through a large amount of this site trying ot find any scrap of information or helpful resource to get my claim with Lloyds Rolling, i thought i would suggest - and proceed in the creation of my "Disappreciation" thread.
My Personal Case, Lloyds TSB sold me a loan at 18, (not a substantial amount. but a pretty sensible £5000.) they then informed me i "had" to take PPI or i would not be granted the loan. and then told me it came with a Credit card ... It wasnt until i joined MSE earlier this year that i realised their Credit card was just another excuse to push me into debt. So as you can guess, the credit card filled up. i then had to extend my loan to £7000 to cover it. then for the interesting bit.
They "closed" my credit card account, wacked my interest upto 19.9%, making my total payment double the loan value, and kep the PPI telling me i had to keep it or i would be rejected the loan. Backtracking a little, i only started a Lloyds account when i was back at 6th Form, because they were the "Student" bank. There to help people with money and support them as they grew older and wiser.
In my situation they only made things worse. and have smashed my mortgage chances until the loan is paid (i swapped to another bank who have been great and sorted it so the loan will be gone in one year. as opposed to Three.)
So.... what are your problems?
Do You:
Need to know where to comlain to?
Need to find out how to get around problems or word your claim.
The aim of this thread is to be a point of contact for anyone looking to make a claim or who is part way through a claim to come and ask questions and be pointed towards their succesful claim.
Anyone willing to start?
Working together we should all save each other a lot of time and effort.

Great thread Joe.
I have several complaints in regards of Lloyds TSB.
However, both my hubby and I, had 2 of these cases resolved through the Financial Ombudsman service (FOS), and hubby has another of these to go, in regards of a Credit Card PPI.
We have yet the loan PPI to get through.
Lloyds TSB unfortunately rejects approx 95% of complaints, where they are mostly moved on to the FOS, the FOS have a number of complaints in regards of this company, and are also resolving them.
So folks, if you are one of those on the rejection side of Lloyds, don't give up, keep at them and there is always the FOS if they don't give in.
Good luck to all and as RisingJoe says, please post up on this thread here in regards of this company, your not alone.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

So.
i sent my first letter off back on the 28th Jan, got no reply other than the usual "were looking into it" and then a "we will reply within 4 weeks" and the latest was a "sorry we have run out of time but havent finished looking into it"
So.
Sent them a 14 Day letter (letter two)
and also have the Financial Ombudsman Letter to send of today, with all back ups etc.
Fingers crossed. (Also put a covering "impending homelessness" letter to see if they would be able to look at it faster)

Dont know about the Fax,
But the phone number was useful, i called about 7 weeks into the claim, and checked they understood they only had a few days to reply and the lady was helpful and informative (beware as im pretty sure the line is recorded at all times so dont say anything that will act against your claim, the FOS may use it later in your claim)Awaiting PPI - Lloyds TSB LoanDebt Free Date: [STRIKE]30/10/09 02/10/09 07/08/09 [/STRIKE] 10/07/090 -

Hi Joe
This is Lloyds all over, hope you hear something soon with good news.
They are always last minute.
I'm sure the FOS will consider "Fast track" for you in your situation, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Lloyds just rejected mine too.... What next?
Hi there
Was this their final response?
If not then write to them again, ask them to reconsider due to your reasons as you still believe you were mis sold.
Try not to be disheartened about this, because they reject approx 95% of these complaints where the great majority of them are resolved through the Financial ombudsman service (FOS).;)
If this was their final response, then take a copy of the letter from Lloyds and enclose this with a complaints form for the FOS, you can ring the FOS to request for a form through the post or download and print one off here:
http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm
Please keep us posted and ask for help when required.
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Happy 182 - I have just sent my form off to the FOS with as much back up as i could find.
statements from my loan, origional details and the branch you visited etc, for obvious reasons i couldnt remember names, but its helpful to them if your as specific as you can be.
if you need any help filling in the form let us know. xAwaiting PPI - Lloyds TSB LoanDebt Free Date: [STRIKE]30/10/09 02/10/09 07/08/09 [/STRIKE] 10/07/090 -

Hi all,
Thought i would post my progress on here (thanks Rising Joe for good thread!)
Just got home from work to find a letter from FOS saying i have won, yipee! Lloyds though are going to take up to 12 weeks to get me the money back booo! I have had exactly the same problem with PPI, credit cards and huge overdrafts given to me as a student by L TSB. They gave me a loan to go travelling, followed by very bad financial advice, so i ended up refinancing my loan twice.
It took a total of 1 year 4 months to get a decision though from start to finish. Good Luck to you all who are trying to get money back from them, they made me feel rubbish the whole way through. Asking for bank manager meetings, hasseling me when i tried to pay money in at the branch and also writing horrible reply letters to my complaints.
Stick with it and remember they just don't want to give it back, the longer they take the more money they make.
GOOD LUCK!0 -
