Well, Lloyds have really outdone themselves today! I have successfully claimed back 2 lots of PPI on Lloyds loans (1st £3500 in total, 2nd £177) due to a pre-existing medical condition. In both cases Lloyds replied quickly in my favour. Today got a letter re a 3rd loan where they say I have not been miss-sold (this loan is currently running - is that the difference?) even though the 2nd loan was taken out 6 months before the last one in exactly the same circumstances
Have sent my 2nd letter off and will now see what happens.0 -

Hi there
Did you write the same reasons for them all?
However, it should not make any difference, so you done the right thing by writing back to them, but the next time you hear, if it's not the outcome you want to hear, go to the FOS, I'm sure they will see this in your favour.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Just a mini update.
Sent my 4 complaints off to the FOS which they received on 24th July, they sent me a reference number through about my complaints today.
More waiting now.
P.S Lloyds didn't get back to me with the 14 days extra i gave them ha!0 -
Hi Everyone
Im a newbie to all this! I have been reading this website all week as I belive that me and my partner have been in the same situation.
I have asked my partner to try and find some of the original paperwork but I have the current loan paperwork to hand. (but once I had mentioned this to him he said he will find it)
Breif lowdown - me and partner been with Lloydstsb for 10 years approx (both given credit cards and loan but no dates as of yet) over next few years we got to a suitation were we really struggled to pay with 2 young children and owed over £18150.00 on the 2 credit cards alone and paying £349.00 on a loan. On March 12th 2007 we took a loan for £25K (now looking at it we have to pay back £35,413.44) and was told as this is not a normal amount to take out so we must take out PPI which when I have looked at the paperwork is £125 per month its set at 8.5% and we have been charged £900.48 for intrest on top. This loan was to pay both the credit cards and the orginal loan but we have took it over 4 years so we could be finally rid of this debt in April 2011. The 'Young Lad' who delt with our loan was not a day older than 22ish and commented that he was new and had only started last week. He was more intrested in talking to us about were we go clubbing etc as we too were in our 20's (late) whilst processing our loan he went in the back room and went on the phone and spoke with someone and turned to us and said if you dont take out PPI you wont get the loan! But we need the loan as the payments on top of everything else was a nightmare we said yes as we didnt know we had a choice. So we still have the PPI what do I need to do? I have looked on Martins other websites/forums etc and I should be paying around £30 which is a massive saving alone!!!!!!! also we still have the credit cards and again now are upto £3K limit but we have decided and made a plan to be more ruthless and make our money work for us. We both work really hard and enjoy nice things but money has become tight slightly again. So we want to pay all this off in less than our agreed terms which are April 2011 and be free by end of next year or eariler.
Questions I would like answering if anyone could help.
1. Would I get anywhere if I sent a letter?
2. Do I need to chnage Bank accounts?
3. Should I claim for Bank charges as well not really need in last 4 years but before this we were charged every fortnight/month.
4. Should I claim for Credit card charges extra.
I have all credit card statements from Oct 2004 for both me and partner and bank statements from June 2005 all to hand in a file.
Sorry for the long thread but never ever done this before and need to be sure of what I am doing before I start as I am very nervous about what might happen.
Thanks for anyones help as it would be much appriciated0 -

Hi there and welcome.;)
This is Lloyds all over "must have the ppi" etc.
Well I think you have good reasons to reclaim, so go for any of your credit that you believe you were mis sold on.
If you have say 2 or 3 loans with lloyds and mis sold for the same reasons for all then write all those account numbers down on the same letter.
The credit card ppi complaint would have to be done separately and the same for them if you have 2 or 3 credit cards with them as well, keep them together if you want to.
You do not need to write any figures down for the reclaiming, but with your own reasons write to them and they have 8 weeks to respond in full.
For more information on reclaiming check here:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
You will find templates on reclaiming on the above link, use as a guide if you want to and obviously write in your own reasons.
Keep at them until they resolve in your favour or until they issue you with the final decision, the final response should give details of the financial ombudsman service (FOS), where you can take your complaint to these if your not happy with the outcome.
Always best to post by recorded delivery as well, this is your proof of posting.
Good luck and post up for further help if required and please let us know how you get on, cheers.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi
Thanks for your reply, after reading everthing on the website for a week I thought we would be able to claim but was unsure and just wanted clarification for somebody who might know or been in simalar suituations.
I have read all the letters and feel I want to send them off but we only have 3 accounts with Lloyds would you say open another bank account somewhere else as could they be funny with our current accounts before I set the ball rolling or stay as we are?
Also do I cancel my PPI now on all cards and loan and opt for the cheaper one or keep it going while I wait thier response?
Thanks again for the advise.
What a brilliant website we are paying over the odds for everything Gas, Eletric, Council tax, Broadband, and many more. :T I have got a busy week ahead of me changing everything to save around about £500 per month.0 -

Your welcome.:A
Sorry I did not get back to you earlier.
There is no need to find a new bank account, they should not close your account down, your only reclaiming what is rightfully yours.
I have been with Lloyds for well over 18 years and we have succeeded in a few reclaims and it's not a problem.
However, you do not actually write to the branch, but either a complaints dept or head office.
You can cancel the same time as reclaiming if you want to, but as the cooling period have obviously past, which is normally 30 days as from when you taken it out, the repayments may not drop by much, but again if reclaiming and successful you should receive all back in ppi, plus the interest, and also request for the extra 8% interest on top of what a court would award.
So the cancellation side of it is entirely up to you hun.;)
It is a wonderful site and I would be lost without it now, everyone on here are amazing.
Good luck with this and please keep us posted, also ask for further help if required.

Hi Di3004
Thanks for the reply, After spending hours looking through mountains of paperwork I have been unable to find the details of the 2 previous loans. This being due to a couple of house moves I must have miss placed them. Currently I only have paperwork for the loan that is still outstanding. I know we paid PPI on the 2 old ones as this was never fully explianed and being young and stupid we didnt know better but I do have the account numbers on my old bank statements. Do you suggest I send the letter first requesting a copy of the loan agreements etc before I put in Claim Letter 1? Also do you know where I send the paperwork too for this?
I will use the templates that are on this website and fill out my details but just not sure if I need a copy of the agreements before I set the ball rolling.
Thanks again for your help.0
