As the previous thread had got a bit long and wandered off topic that one has been closed and this new one started.
This thread is for any discussions on the Tesco policy regarding misprices. Please don't post misprice items in this thread but you can chat away to your heart's content here, leaving the other thread just for listing the 'finds'
Any misprices you find should be posted in this thread here
Thanks
For new readers:
For clarification SEL stands for Shelf Edge Label
the Tesco policy on signs instore is :-
"And if things don't add up ~ In the unlikely event you are charged a higher price than on the shelf or the product we will refund your money and you can keep the product"
Compare the price per kilo on the pack with the shelf edge label price per kilo and where there is a difference the lowest price must be charged.
Thanks to !!!!!! Dastardly for providing the following information from the DTI website which summarises consumer rights in relation to misleading price indications:
Q1. I was charged a different price for an item at the till to the one that was shown on the shelf, what are my rights?
The Consumer Protection Act 1987 makes it an offence for a trader to give a consumer misleading price indications. In the first instance speak to the trader about the differing prices, if you are not satisfied with the response, contact your local authority trading standards department who enforce the Act and who could bring a prosecution against the trader.

I got my first R&R yesterday, 007 Xbox game for £32.97 when the poster said the top 15 should be under £29.97. No problems.
However, I don't want this game - can I go in and exchange it for a Nintendo DS game that's priced at £29.97 or will this cause confusion? I presume I will have to wave the £3 difference in price and not ask for change?Tesco Deals Vouchers : £1500 in deals used towards Florida 2010 honeymoon and £318 towards Wedding rings in Goldsmiths - Thanks to all Tesco points savers who helped me along the way! :beer:0 -

I wouldnt if I were you, thats pushing it slightly. Besides, you probably dont have the receipt that they would need to exchange it?
Maybe try and put it on ebay, trade it in at another store?0 -

Just wondered if anyone has come across any Tesco stores that are so hot on price checking that there is never a misprice. (I suppose them people can then avoid this store and try another or see it as a challenge and spend a few hours in there armed with lists etc, determinded to find something mispriced even by 1p!)
So far I have only found one misprice in Crewe Tesco, one of the garlic chickens. In fact the other week everyhting was going the other way, things were scanning at less than the SEL!

Tesco's Brent Park have a few x box games with Sel of £32 1 priced at £39.00 and the poster which says under £30.00, so if anyone wants to try it, I would have but they are such buggers in there and couldn't be dealing with arguing today, so good luck if you try.0
