Hi all
I'm wondering what to buy Mum. I could ask her and she'll say 'Oh just get me some chocolates', like she does every year. You might think 'Get her choccies then!', she does like them and I do get them'...every birthday & Christmas. It would be nice to surprise her...I just need a little inspiration...So what's everyone getting their Mums?

Rancid, I'm stuck on this one too. Don't want to go down the chocolates, candles or hamper route - again. Thought of one of those wireless photoframes but they are a bit tacky for her liking. She loves her PC and digital photography though.DC.

I have gone the hamper route this year and with the help on the special occasions boards I have had some fab ideas and not spent more than £20.

Ooh... I'm not v original about what I buy my Mum at all!
Last year she got a matching leather handbag and purse, and the year before a Digital Photo Frame. The birthday inbetween was Cliff Richard tickets I think.
This year I had bought some of the poppy pottery that she coillects - but the eBay seller I bought it from has taken over a month to let me know that they are letting me down and not sending the stuff so I have to think again.
I tend to stay away from the most predictable choices because that leaves them open for my (not known for being creative) brothers. If an artist she likes had a CD or DVD out they'll get her that, or else it will be smellies and / or chocs.
She's not very well this year so the chocs are out because she couldn't eat them.
I might get her tickets to something maybe?
I'l be checking this thread out for ideas!

Different Corner Your Mum into PCs & Photography? What about one of those photos-to-dvd-slideshow creator software packs.....is it called 'Ulead DVD Picture Factory' or something? Or some photo-touch up software?
I'm going to try and see if I can buy my Mum sort sort of Cross Stitch pack, she spends a lot of time doing them, failing that, some posh chocolates from Thorntons, will check back here for more Ideas
Maybe perfume? But what sort of perfume for a 70 year old...and how do I Know she'll like it?Sealed Pot Challenge 15 #78

My sister and I have bought our parents a large canvas of our children.
We had a photo session done of the three of them together then they transfer the photo on to a canvas. It's really nice.
Parents are so hard aren't they as they tend to have everything.Proud to be dealing with my debts - DFW No: 712

I had an order from Approve Foods, and I'm filling the box with food, but not fancy stuff.
Got things like Typhoo tea bags, spaghetti, beans, tomatoes, soup, loads of tinned stuff, biscuits etc, all stuff that she does use.
Last year I got her some Estee Lauder make up and I don't think she was bothered with it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.
