Why have numerous relevant threads been moved to discussion time?

I am not a huge poster on here, but am lurking every day. I use the house prices thread to educate myself a little more on what is going on, firstly, with house prices and secondly, the economy in general. I read HPC too, but I do feel MSE, is a little more balanced, so stick here. Given the increase in numbers, I suspect others are the same.
I though the house prices board kept things pretty well contained. Yes, it has a tendency to go slightly off tangent, but 9/10, they are pretty relevant tangents.
Why have numerous threads about house prices, quantatative easing (which was fascinating btw) been moved to discussion time? Some have close to 100 civil replies, so why move it without an explanation?
Can we either get the threads back, rename this board "house prices and the relevant economy" (or something like that) or get an explanation from a mod as to why they were moved?
Yes, I am aware the mods do a good job, but this just seems a little too much to me.

I moved those threads over this morning, as most were not to do with house price's. This is the house prices board, not for talks on the general economy and until the name is changed board guides have to try and stick to the guidelines.
Yes, board guides have let some discussions off topic on here, but it was getting a bit much really.
If you want to ask about renaming the board you will have to ask one of the mse team.0 -

This one is totally appropriate, but now in discussion time?0 -
The Savings and Investment board used to be a good place to discuss economic problems, then it went all anal on chasing 0.1% improvements in interest rates.
MSE definite needs an a political economy sub-board; discussion time is more like 'Hello' magazine (or its northern edition 'Eh-up')0 -

The general economy is discussed because of its relevance to house prices. With your actions, you have split the house price discussion across 2 boards. The fact that there is a fair number of threads and a good number of contributions suggests to me that what was happening was right.
The solution is not renaming the board or dealing with threads going off topic. What goes on here is to the general satisfaction of all involved here and the solution is to put things back the way they were and discuss with people if you think there really is any sort of problem. Because, I assure you, there is no problem here which requires your actions. After the uprising of the 17th June The Secretary of the Writers Union

Can you move them all back now? You had no right doing that - of course those threads were linked House Prices (houses prices are linked to the genral economy).
So come on, get a grip and move the posts back!
Absolutely agree, House prices are the economy, didn't you know divadee ?, just ask Gordon Clown.0 -
I think it would be a good idea if someone kicks off a poll for this to see what the majority posters think of divadee or whatever acts of lunacy.0

Sorry to disagree vehemently. You are taking what I consider to be a jobsworth attitude here. Or you are being narrowly obsessive.

the general economy and its direction is intrinsically linked to the board's subject and I can't recall any recent post that has gone off-beam or overly analytical.
a mistake to move things, IMHO.0 -
so a thread about a car park full of new cars unsold is about house prices is it?
A thread about the honda team being up for sale is about house prices is it?
A thread about jeremy clarkson talking about car prices is about house prices is it?
A thread about recession in Germany is about house prices is it?
NO they are not, yes they are about the wider economy but they are not about HOUSE PRICES. Until the mse team change the guidelines and/or the name of this board to house prices and recession and the worlds wider economy I have to follow the guidelines.0 -

If it comes to a poll, this would raise questions of confidence in the Board Guides, which are probably best not raised until divadee has responded. After the uprising of the 17th June The Secretary of the Writers Union

diva, I understand what you are saying, but the board will be a shell of its former self and I for one will miss it.
Also there really is nowhere else to discuss the wider economy, as someone else said, the arms is more like, "The Suns" discussion time.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0
