Morning everyone...it's a brand new Year!!! :j
I'm up again in the middle of the night - so one new year's resolution already broken, ie that I'd get better sleep. Ho hum.
I rearranged my furniture in my bedroom yesterday, moving my desk and computer out to a spare room, then moved my bed. This was to help with my sleeping as all the books say that it's bad to have work or study related items in your bedroom as you can never get away from it. So here I am in my "study".
Spent last night in the Money saving Arms - had a few too many, and came joint last in the quiz MSE Andrea held. It was really good fun! I also got a call from my friend in Sardinia - she's invited me over to stay, so I'll be looking into that soon.
Old Style today will be handwashing my car and some cooking for the freezer. Will also have to iron my work uniform, going back on Tuesday and really don't want to....
Bye everyone, Happy New Year.

Morning Snowy & Everyone
Had a great evening last night but only managed 4 hrs kip (not bad for me) and have already taken me pain killers  Well I suppose...it is only the 1st of 2006, cant expect miracles!!
Anyways, washload on of dark colours and will be dried on airer after. DW all emptied and house generally clean and tidy. DD has her bedroom to do today and I still have a box of pressies in my room that need putting away (mainly dd's). Have a collection of about 5 decent items that will be either recycled or sold on ebay as we wont use them-just have to make sure not to give back to the same person..LOL, but have jotted it down in a small note book.
Family who came last night loaded the DW up then emptied once done which was really nice of them. Meant that my OH could rest abit and get totally sloshed..lol.
Breakie: Tuna Roll
Lunch: Leftovers from roast last night
Tea: Beans on Toast
Will catch up later, but hoope everyone had a great time last night.

need to start looking into a playschool for DD who will be 2 in march, i dont want her to start until she is 2 and a half tho as i will really miss having her at home, but everyone keeps telling me she needs to spend time with other kids her own age (!)
anyways off for a cuppa and a browse!!November NSD's - 70 -
morning all!
Don't know why I have to wake up when there's the chance of a lie-in but here I am with my slice of lemon & hot water! Night before last bang on 10pm dd started being sick and kept it up right through until 5am so hardly any sleep for either of us. She had an hour's nap yesterday morning and another hour in the afternoon when family were over. Last night after getting her to have a nice soak in the bath and another dose of calpol as she was still running a temperature, finally got her snuggled up fast asleep in bed. Was thinking about heading that way myself and leaving OH see the New Year In on his own as I was that tired but then at 10pm fireworks started going off. That woke both dd's up so there were 4 of us to see in the New Year! So I'm very, very tired but very awake. Still it was nice to see the New Year in as a family for the first time :xmassmile
Happy New Year everyone - hope it's a great one for us all :beer:0 -
HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!!!!
HOPE 2006 IS A GREAT ONE FOR EVERYONE :-)
i hope everyone had a fabulous night last night.....girlies were in bed and sound asleep by 5.45pm and dh cooked a lovely meal and then we drank bubbly, due to work shifts before its the first time we've ever seen the new year in together and it was just perfect.
well dd1 woke me up at 6.30 but dd2 is still in bed!!!
i took advantage though and there is a chicken casserole cooking away in the slow cooker.we will have it for lunch as dh is working from 2pm,that way we'll sit and eat together still.
breakfast = toast and cuppa for me and dh,weetabix and toast has been devoured by dd1 and dd2 will have weetabix.
lunch = chicken casserole and hm bread.
tea = ???? dont know yet, probably dippy eggs with toast soldiers.
not much planned in the way of housework apart from vacuuming and vaxing all the floors downstairs, one washload which will go on as soon as dd2 awake and some ironing tonight.
going to take dd's to the park to feed the ducks as i found some forgotten about bread rolls dated the 26th of december!!0 -
Morning and Happy New Year to everyone :hello:
Very littl s leep for me, due mainly to being in The Arms all night (Snowy was a hoot) then DS1 waking at 11.50 and still being awake at 1.30 when he decided he'd come into our bed - where he just HAS to sleep on my pillow, jammed up against me. He wriggles too
Then DS2 decided 7am was brekkie time, so here we all are. At least I was sober last night so nice and clear headed this morning :j
Today we're bringing mum here for dinner - roast lamb and all the trimmings then a plum crumble to finish. Mr TM tidied and hoovered yesterday (had to be given instructions) but I still have to clean bathrooms and kitchen floor, oh, and dust. Why do men (Ok, MOST men, sorry MATH) not see dust?
Other than that, just a day vegging out. It's damp here but at least it's stopped raining, so may venture outside for a bit - maybe even on my bike
Have a good day everyone

:hello: Happy New Year Everyone!
Congrats to TM for winning the Quiz last night/this morning:T :T :T
B: Fruit Smoothies
L: Roast Shoulder of Lamb with all the trimmings
T: Cheese and Fruit Salad a La MP
Having a lazy day today - while the quiz was going on, I was baking/cooling 3 Chicken and Ham Loaves for the freezer. Except I had no chicken ... or ham.I *did* have some turkey mince and some pork mince which I'd bought on reduced and frozen so made them with that instead. Turned out rather well, even if I do say so myself
JAMIE - great reminder about the uniforms - mine also go back on Tuesday and I have to travel to London that day too (best check everything is ready today  )

Morning and a very Happy New Year to everyone
Well got up at 6.30am and cleared up all the mess from last night. Everyone else is still asleep so I'm about to get the dinner ready. Roast Beef and trimmings. Last years dinner was all convienience food from a packet (even the mash) this year all will be freshly prepared by me. What a change round! This is all thanks to the O/S board. Thank you all.
Right off to peel the spuds, recycle all last nights bottles and have another coffee.

Happy New Year everyone
Didn't get to bed until 2.30 am (waiting up for youngest DD to come home from celebrating seeing in the New Year and then having a chat with her - Dad was taxi service as usual)
Just been catching up on my emails and finished reading Martin's newsletter.
I'm trying to start the New Year in OS manner and have decided to use the store cupboard, freezer and whatever we have from Christmas to keep going this week and not go to the shops (thereby cutting down on the cost of one shopping trip this month). A couple of weeks ago we were given some pheasants and these were duely dealt with and put straight in the freezer. So today we are having pheasants breast for lunch, there are some mushrooms and onions left, a small amount of left over red wine in the fridge and one or two other left overs. It looks like it will be pheasant in a red wine casserole for us today
This time last year I hadn't found MSE so it would have been a case of clearing out the fridge and going for a bit of a shop yesterday. Now I have a good supply of store cupboard basics and a freezer which contains extra meals made from leftovers and stretched turkey (I'm particularly looking forward to the home made turkey and mushroom pie I made from the pickings of the turkey breast - don't worry the bones were also made into a stock, which has also been frozen for later use). I also have enough frozen milk to last the week, the only items I may have to go to the shops for are fresh fruit.
Have a lovely OS day everyone :wave:Enjoying an MSE OS life0 -
Morning everyone and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
I stayed up until midnight to see the New Year in and then went to bed!!
We have a roast chicken dinner this evening yum yum!
I must go and jump in the shower in a minute, I start work at 12 but wanna leave early and see if the Tesco near work is open cos it's DS2's 5th b-day tomorrow and need to get him a cake!
I hope 2006 is a happy, healthy, safe and prosperous year for all (especially mse's!).Mortgage-free wannabe!0 -
Morning, and Happy New Year!
Fell asleep at 11 last night only to get woken up at 12 by the fireworks, but promptly fell back asleep again. Feeling a bit tired this morning as ive had a lie-in, and I have plenty to do today so ill just take it steady and enjoy my cuppa first!
Roast Chicken for dinner today, then im going to concoct some stews etc for freezing for me to take to work for lunches.
My tasks for today are:
Thoroughly clean the flat inc laundry, change bedsheets, windows, take down xmas decorations
Pick up a freecycle item (yey - flash for my SLR camera)
de-junk and list some stuff on freecycle
Post my budget on DebtFree and on my fridge
Change my Signature
Roast a chicken and batch cooking
Go for a walk in the park for some fresh air
Type a few letters and return DVD player
Career action plan organised
Obviously some of those will be done over today and tomorrow too! Im determined that this year I will slim down a bit, get healthy and do some excercise, get a proper career, and clear the debts. I think the first port of call this morning will be take a shower though, I need to fully wake up!
I hope 2006 brings us all happiness and success and that our aims are fulfilled by the end of it
