Potato weigh in this way please!
Options
Potato firklers this way please. :rotfl:
Several of us are growing potatoes this year, in various containers/ earth/ allotments etc. Very MS :j :j
So this is where you report in your weights and what type of potatoes you have grown, and if possible show a photo of the finished spuds before you cook them. (please make sure the photo FITS or is smaller than the page, us old ones take ages to get to the end of the screen!)
You may need to up date as you dig up.
If this thread takes off, I will try to keep the front page up to date with your name, weight of spuds and type, if you cannot remember then don’t worry, and who is the chief firkler in your family!!:rotfl:

You knew I'd be here didn't you:rotfl:
We have finished our 3 pots of pots now and the weights of each were:
pot 1 - 3 seed pots gave 1.5lbs new potatoes
pot 2 - 3 seed pots gave 1.6lbs new potatoes
pot 3 - 4 seeds pots gave 3.2lbs new potatoes
No idea what type they were just a bag from Wilkinsons. Here is the first harvest -0 -
Hi,If only I had weighed them!!
We have just made a start on free ones from DTBrown, vale emerald ,I did count them,18 in all thats including 2 thumbnail sized ones :j they were really tasty.:D These have been grown in flower buckets.
I will get a photo and weigh the next ones.If you think this has helped make my day and hit the thanks button:beer:0 -
i,ve got a photo of the ones I ate yesterday (my first) but I dont know how to show you. Weighed about 2lbs. Dont know what they were either, just a spud from supermarket bag left over.:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o
Well except mastered my mortgage 5 yrs early :T:j
Street finds for 2018 £26:49.0 -
mine were all carp
I had about half a bucket from 3 big bins of plants, grrrrr
Better results from the one I planted in the bed, guess what I'll be doing next year?????0 -
Just dug up my first container yesterday - meant to be earlies (whatever it was poundland was selling) but I think I left them too long as some of them were huge. Got just over 2lb from 3 seed potatoes - not grown them before so I was quite pleased.
The other container is the same size but I only put one potato in - I wasn't sure if the pot was big enough so I thought I'd try both and see what happened. Will dig up the others when I finish the first lot.
Other than £1 for the potatoes it hasn't cost anything as I used homemade compost and fertiliser from the wormery. If I'd had to pay for compost and plant food, I don't think it would have been worthwhile. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Dug mine morning they are the free ones from DT Brown, i put half in ground and other in grow bags
these are from ground just over 5lb, cant wait to eat some for tea:D

Going to dig others in a couple weeks0 -
Well done so far folks, keep them coming.:j :j
As I planted about the 13th May to 22nd May in to tubs and compost bags, mine are not ready yet.
And in additionI don't know which are the 1st or 2nd earliers or main crop as the tubs / bags got mixed up when I moved them to assemble the greenhouse!!
So clearly I am going to have to do some firkling in a couple of weeks. :rotfl:
I do know I planted, Saxon, Accent and Piccaco total cost £1.25 from local garden centre (about 20 seed spuds in total I think)Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles
