Bought 3 cans of chickpeas at Sainsbury's as they were 3 for £1 :) Haven't tried baking them yet but opened a can into the pasta pasata I made today and it was really tasty and an extra level of filling!

jenpoptab, you are doing really well on your weight loss. Just hang on in there as we'll both soon be at 1 stone :)

Ally, girl! Nice to see you again! Great to hear you've been having fun and I know what you mean about losing your way on the diet. I did that last December and was just 'playing' at it since then, until a few weeks back when I realised the only way for me to get my focus back was to join a club :( I don't like paying every week but if that is what it takes to get me back on track and on the downward slope to my ultimate goal then that's what it has to be. It is nice to meet everyone each week though and have a chat about tips for free stuff to eat and catch up with how their week went. Good luck with giving up the cigarettes, it isn't easy but if you just take it one day at a time it helps.

Hi SomersetPrincess :) Anyone is welcome to join in on the thread, especially welcome if you are trying to lose some weight too. We all chat about diety stuff on here and any new ideas that people come across. I am sure we have a few people on here who are doing the WW diet, but dieting in general brings us together :)

Hi blondie21, as Linda12 said it was the password for the Slimming World website. I don't follow WW and haven't done that diet for a few years now so can't tell you what it is like today. There are some others on here following it who may be able to help you on that though :) I watched the film 'Super Size Me' and it was enough to put me off the junk food for a couple of months, then after that I didn't feel the desire to eat McDonald's anymore. I think there might be something to that 'meat and cheese' addiction thing that the guy was going on about in the film!

Linda, nice to see you around :) *hugs*

Good luck everyone for this weeks weight losses and I'll check in with you on Tuesday night after club to let you know how I get on.
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out

Hey Ted, nice link! :D I had a read and I'll make sure that at work when i'm not walking around the training room, that I swing my leg or wiggle my toes and think about all those iddy biddy calories I'm burning up as I'm doing it :)

    Neat! ;)

Nice one SomersetPrincess :) I bet you are walking on air after a weight loss that great! I can only dream of being under 10 stone *daydreams for a little while about weighing that little!* Good luck for this week!

I weighed in at club tonight and lost 1/2lb, was really disappointed but during the discussion it was pointed out to me that 10lb in 4 weeks is a lot and my body may just be regrouping as I have not strayed from the path at all. I put myself down for a 3lb loss for next week and will be upping the amount of moving around I am doing to try and help myself achieve that end!

Site password for this week is 'gammon', apparently the passwords do last for 2 weeks to make up for any overlap in the days that clubs are run across the country.

Good luck for this coming week folks!

Well done somerset princess & velvet glove.

1lb off, 10lb in 4 weeks, woo hoo, only 2lb and I'll be less than 12 stone (that will be for first time in a few years). I know I'm unlikely to lose 4lb by next Thurs (b'day) but at least I won't be far off my target of 1 stone off for my b'day.

My next target is another half stone off by 2nd Oct (wedding anniversary). I think if I do it in little steps it seems more manageable.

OK, I'm back too. Slowly, slowly lost a stone before April this year when I was due to have some surgery, but it was postponed until July by which time I'd lost almost another half-stone. Now post-op, determined not to put it back on again BUT I've had to take steroids, and from the first dose my post-op appetite DOUBLED - seriously, I was hungry again! No, not hungry, RAVENOUS! So there it goes, creeping back on again.

Have filled the house with fruit and trying to keep away from all the biccies, can't exercise a lot more just yet, managing 5,000 steps a day but only at 'mum with pushchair and toddler' pace. Tried walking faster tonight, but although my body doesn't seem to object, my brain just can't seem to make me keep it up!

Oh woe is me, I know it's only 3 weeks since the op, so I mustn't panic too much, but I really hate the fact that since I started this course of steroids the weight has started going back on!

    PS huge love to Linda.

I went to my sisters wedding this week and was told I looked fat :( The wedding photos make me look like Chris Moyles and I thought i'd done well losing 4lbs lately and got so depressed, I stuffed myself.

It didn't help when, I, the last heterosexual 'child' from the family not to be married, was kept being told "you'll be next" and me thinking "I'm too fat to get married" :(

So, I've got to re-motivate myself again.

So tomorrow, back to fruit and boring foods :rotfl:
