  • Rose Wood, I've got the exact opposite problem with my (VERY cheap!) pedometer - only got to sneeze violently and it says I've done 5 steps!

Just wanted to say :T WELL DONE YOU!:T to all the losers. Hope to be joining you on Monday... but not convinced it's going to happen! I was good yesterday after my pig out on Thursday, and today started off fine (yoghurt and banana for breakfast, soup and roll for lunch). Disaster struck this afternoon when I nipped out for a birthday card, bumped into a friend and went for a coffee... which turned into hot chocolate (waitress - "do you want cream and marshmallows?" me - "yes please") - why did my mouth say that??? - and a choc chip muffin! Tea was beans on toast with no butter to try and make up for it.

Can't foresee any problems for tomorrow, but then I didn't see any for today either!:o

    Night night!

recovering spendaholic, surgery is such an extreme thing to put your body through, I am really hoping you can do this without having to, but you know what is right for you. Sending you positive vibes and will be watching your progress with much interest.

Well I am still resisting the scales, avoiding the shops as much as possible, trying to only use the coop and f&v shop for food at the minute because MrsM said I have to reduce my spending :rotfl:just kidding. This way I am hoping aswell as reducing the spending this month I can also resist the nasty temptations!

I have been baking, just rolls today, sweet stuff for the kids tomorrow but out of a tray bake of brownies and a massive stack of cookies I only had 2 small brownie squares (cut them into 1 1/2 inch square pieces to fit in DSs lunch box pots) and 2 cookies all week :D

Todays food - seedy bread toasted (2 slices), 4 v small bananas (DP says I am going to look like a monkey soon) chilli & rice, tortilla chips, 1/2 can tom soup and 1 more slice bread, 2 coffees.

Not too good really, but better than I was doing, portion sizes are reducing and I can tell it's having some effect because I couldn't finish my chill & rice, too much. I'm eating fruit usually when I feel hungry during the day/evening (hence the 4 bananas)

Fingers crossed that magic number appears on Tuesday! I need to have that number, I haven't seen it on the scales for many years.
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb
  • Recovering Spendaholic - not sure if you're aware but I just read LOADS of positives in your post! Sounds to me like you've got yourself into exactly the right frame of mind to do this the "natural" way so you GO FOR IT GIRL, YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!

Know you'll get loads of support on here and if you have a bad day then so what..... we all have them, and there's always a tomorrow to get back on track.

    Good luck!!!

Really , really great to hear from you again RS. I know how hard it is not to binge, believe me. I struggle with the demons daily. Sometimes I win, sometimes they win. I just try to win more than they do :D Lots of the others are starting again tomorrow so you'll be in good company ;) Good Luck , I know you can do it, it wont be right if you're not on the GMTV sofa with us ;)

Think you've come back at just the right time Rec - a few have been saying that they've had a blip and are starting afresh on Monday so theres many in the same boat.

I don't mean to be critical of your doctor but I do know that I had the same suggestion made to me about needing 'surgical intervention' when I was around the 25st 7lb mark a few years back. I have to say I was miffed as hell because I thought that he may know cases with problems like me but he didn't know me! I may still have a long way to go but I've shifted over 5 stone since that conversation back then and I'm actually gathering pace now with the help of this thread. ;)
As regards the negative comments, so what! Better to get them out your head than have them torturing you quietly.. we all have our days and need support. And remember we all give support too. ;)

    Food today:
    Readybrek
Egg salad sandwich in HM seedy bread
Not the foggiest about tea yet. Not sure who's in.

Snacks - Chocolate eclair (promised DS2 would make some) and fruit

Hoping for a quieter day today, yesterday was all rushing. While I was dashing around the garden centre getting a few bits, DS1 was frantically calling my switched off mobile as he was stuck in the shell garage after filling up his car and then realising he'd left his switch card at home.(silly boy  ) Finally after trying to call OH and Grandad he got through to my brother who hot footed it down, switch card in hand and bailed him out. Fortunately my lovely brother thought it funny but I was furious that DS1 seems to regard everything as 'no biggy' when he fails to see how busy the adults in his life are sorting out his little mishaps.
I can never recall being so irresponsible. :A

Have a lovely restful Sunday everyone.

I--like many--have found February a devil of a month in almost every aspect of my life:o but I know you lot will always be here to throw a lifeline to us stragglers...& I do so thank you for that.

I've cheered up a little, after finding some tops that were too big for me in a charity shop, & also buying a beautifully fitted top 2 sizes smaller than I was wearing three months ago:j

To say I'm chuffed is a little understated cuz I'm sooooo used to draping adapted barrage balloons, but now I actually own a piece of clothing that has a defined shape other than blobbed:D

    Thanks guys....I owe you
ooh---wuz gunna say big time....... ....... ...wot we gunna say now.......weeellllll, you know what I mean.

    Well done Big Mumma :D

I have been staying away from this thread as i just can't stop eating. Constantly grazing at the moment due to low-level anxiety as the birth gets closer. Munch munch munch! I knew I was getting big in the belly, no escaping that, but got a shock when I went to put on a pair of boots that fitted me pre-pregnancy and couldn't zip them up past my calf! I don't usually put weight on my legs so that bothered me a bit.

I feel I should be going swimming or doing some sort of exercise, I was doing quite well a few weeks ago. But now i just can't be arsed. The bump has slowed me right down and i feel like a big fat bloater.

    Morning all

What bloomin awfull weather we have here at the moment....windy, rainy and grim.... and hubby has gone out to a golfing competition in this... mad as a hatter me thinks :p

    Woohooo recovering

Nice to see you back :T .....You CAN lose weight naturally .. I have faith in you ..im sure we all do on here ;) I hope you kicked the surgeon in the shins when he said you would never lose weight on your own  .... cheeky swine, If you feel that way -then its different..but he doesn't know YOU.... did he bother to mention those folks who had gone ahead with the procedure and not lost weight ???? How often have you read of someone having it done and liquidising burgers, choc etc  .. i know i have seen several...

Have you thought of asking your GP to refer you to a therapist to talk about your relationship with food? I would definitely try that before undergoing such a big and expensive operation.... I know i doesn't work for everyone..but it might be worth a try, we all know that a lot of our eating habbits are down to how we feel... us women make 1st class "emotional eaters"
I always knew what my trigger was... i lost my dad on my 16th and i was there... everyone else couldn't eat with the trauma..so i decided to prove "i was fine" so ate...and ate ..and ate :o ...

As for feeling ashamed that you might not have anything positive to say on here every day  So what !!!! come on here and vent your spleen we all do it :p .... We take it in turns..thats the great thing..when you feel crappy..there is always someone on here who is having a possitive day..and they pick you up :T

The kids going to bed in protest sounds like a bonus to me :rotfl: no goodies in the house and a quite night..what a result :p ..... I think that is the wisest move... if it ain't in the house you can't eat it ;) ... Thats what i do.. i know that if i go shopping and come out without the cake, crisps or whatever.. then im going to be fine,,, the nearest shop is 30mins away on foot.. so if i was THAT desperate for something i will go and get it -deffinitely makes you think twice :rotfl: and it hasn't happened yet... so i obviously don't want IT that badly
Hope to see you posting regularly... especially on days you are struggling.. and if ever you want to just let off steam or distract yourself -feel free to PM me :D ...You CAN and WILL do this... come on join in..."I CAN and I WILL"

Queenpig... glad the funeral went ok for you all...

Saversarn... My sister used to swim for the county..god i remember the galas all bloomin weekend..getting up at the crack of dawn and not getting back until dark:rolleyes:

Rosewood... its those bloomin visitors interupting your routine and the bad weather.. you will have that itty bit back off again in no time at all..and once the nice weather returns -there will be no stopping you :T

Meanmarie..hot cross buns mmmmmmmm my mum keeps them in for my brother -he has 1 for brekkie...but she has had to get him to hide them ,as she swears she could see them waving at her every time she went in the kitchen :rotfl: ..it must be genetic.. i love them so i know your battle there ;)

Droopy drawers.. you have what we call "food tourettes" fine the rest of the time.. but when food is concerned you can't control what you say ;) .. I used to have that and a reading problem... give me a menu and i would always start at the back... decide what pud i wanted and then work from there to the front.. meaning there was no way i was NOT going to have a pud-regardless of how full i was :o

Lil_me .... im watching your spends you know :rotfl: Have i missed what the "magic number" is?? or is it a top secret magic number? hate to think im missing out on anything :p

Wohooo frogga..hope you are having a lovely weekend matey mate of mine :p .... heck they are going to need a lot of seats on that GMTV sofa ... we could always go for THIS MORNING instead... i like phillip n fern :rotfl: mind :money: goes on GMTV quite a bit doesn't he??? we could kill 2 birds with one stone -stone get it ?:rotfl: ok i will get my coat and leave quietly :o

Cheerfulness :T on proving the doctor wrong ...... i hope you go and plonk yourself on his desk when you are done... and show him how wrong he was

woohoo taplady..will post that recipe later..when i have dug the mag out ;)

PHEEWWWWWW i think i have caught up with you all now :D

Hope rockie, newlywed, bigmummaF, M.E and everyone else not mentione are ok and having a nice weekend

I have had a strange weekend eating wise... TOTM..and as usual i could eat a scabby pony... its been like a disco in the kitchen with the fridge light going on and off... i felt like i had done nothing but chomp.. but when i looked at it yesterday i had
    1. 2 weetabix
    2. a bit of roast pork with kraut salat (had a fancying)
    3. 1 hm tortilla with fresh boiled gammon -really thinly sliced and a bit of tzatziki and salad
    4. a yoghurt, a couple of apples and a couple of oranges
Hubby pointed out that many times i went to the kitchen and came out with a glass of water in my hand  which may explain me being up n down to the loo like a loony -still extra exercise i guess :rotfl:

Today im going to have :-
    1. weetabix in a moment
    2. kraut salat with cold gammon -have to slice the rest up for the freezer anyway
    3. roast chicken, hm stuffing, steamed potatoes, carrots, broccoli, cabbage and peas
    4. and fruit or yoghurts for snackies
Have a pan of chicken stock on.. will be turned into chicken n sweetcorn soup later..then that will be hubbies soups made for his lunches for the month :T did 3 lots yesterday:D

I think that is about me for now..have nothing much else to do.... so i will carry on going through my recipes ;) oooh including the New slimming world mag hubby got me yesterday :T
right im off for now..have a great weekend and look forward to seeing everyone back tomorrow.. keep at it folks
    talk to you soon :D

BiggmummaF you snook in whilst i was typing...but had to pop back for a :j :T or two..well done :T ...thrilled for you.. glad that has raised your spirits -keep at it girl :D

JoJoB... Don't be sooo hard on yourself, heck im sure one the new arrival makes its entrance you will be burning those cals off in no time :rotfl: make the most of your chances to put your feet up and rest...

Happy Mother's Day to all you mums out there, especially my "virtual" mum, if I might be so bold :D

As I'm the better part of 300 miles away from mine, I'll have to settle for a 'phone call to her later on. Fortunately, my star of a big sister is calling round and has got her a card and pressie on my behalf.

Have a great day, mums :j
