I sent my ombudsman letter on the 06/05 and they sent one back on the 09/05 saying they would be in touch within 14 days when do you recommend i contact them
I would phone them when the 14 days are up as they will write to you with a response otherwise. I got a letter a couple of weeks ago saying it would take another 4 weeks to investigate but it didn't.
Good luck.0 -
Hi thanks for your advice, do you have to wait 14 working days?0

can anyone help me please....i have had a letter from littlewoods regarding my charges saying that
"it is made clear that charge is applied, and i am satisfied the charges are fair and reasonable, we are aware of the statement of the OFT's position regarding fair charges. for the reasons given above (my late payment dates and arrangement fee letters)we are satisfied that the charges applied to your account are justifiable in accordance with the views of the OFT and are fair within the Unfair terms in consumer contracts regulations. in the circumstances, the company is not prepared to remove any further charges applied to your account. as your complaint is in relation to a credit agreement that was sold before 06/04/07 you are unable to refer your complaint to the financial ombudsman service as you were not a member of a dispute resolution service until this date. i should advise you that if you do decide to refer to FOS it is unlikely that they will consider your complaint. this is our final response."
.......what does all this mean? my next step would be going to court, would there be any point? or is this letter just a delaying tactic?
any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
thanks

Hi all,
I recieved this notice through MCOL this morning.
To be honest Im a little worried.
Defence
You are unable to take any further action online on this claim.
The Defendant disputes the whole amount you have claimed. Your claim cannot proceed online and will be transferred to the appropriate court for continuation. You will receive confirmation to where the claim has been transferred to shortly.
What happens now?
What have i got to do?
how long have I got?
I have to get all the answers so I can get my plan of action!
Can anyone help me please.
Thanks.0 -

Hi George,
This is a standard development. Don't worry about it. I've also got to this stage. All that happens now is that you will be sent a letter detailing that the claim has been passed to your local county court and telling you what that court will be. Depending on how busy that court is, you may also be given your court date (I haven't actually had mine yet though I do know my local court that will be dealing with it is Swansea). If they require any paperwork from you in support of your claim then they will also ask for this. Some courts do also require you to fill out an Allocation Questionnaire, though most dispense with this due to the volume of these types of claims).
Just sit tight. This is the interesting bit now. Most banks seem to pay up before the court date, others have gone as far as the court date but not turned up and so have lost the case by default (except in the very rare and recently reported case involving LTSB).
Basically, this is the point at which the bank hope you will lose your nerve. Stand firm. If you read the success thread, you will see that 99.9% of claimants win even when it reaches this stage.
All the best and good luckReclaims in progress:
Smile: Claimed £3124 Paid: £3124
First Direct: Claimed £8178 Paid: Court date 14th Aug

This is a standard fob off. Go to the next stage.0
