    Reclaiming-£382
    Received-£112

    Sent first letter 11th April
They wrote back 20th April saying they would investigate
Then 10th may i received a letter with all the 'we are sorry you are unhappy ect ect
But as a matter of 'goodwill'
They would refund the difference between the original charges and the rate of £12 which they seem fair=£112
Was in my account when i rang to check!:rotfl:

Sent a letter saying it wasnt good enough and still waiting to hear, but atleast its something
  • I wrote to Halifax on 18 April requesting my last 6 years bank statements. As yet i have received nothing and heard nothing. Can someone please clarify whether the 40 days allotted is inclusive of weekends / bank holidays etc. or is it a straight 40 day stretch. If so, is this lack of response normal or am i blatantly being ignored ??? Please advise !

I got my statements from 2004 to present date yesterday 23/5/07. 1st req for statements was on 19/4/07. I also as told I'd have to wait as micofiche details basically were low on the retrieving order. However, the clock is STILL ticking on their 40 day deadline which ends 12/6/07.

Millions of people will have seen on BBC 10pm news tonight.

Complaints are rolling in that Abbey are using the Lloyds case as a precendent and writing to customers warning them off.

As said on BBC news, NO PRECEDENT HAS BEEN SET

Amazing that Abbey thought they could pull this one off. They, by getting on the news have just given a FREE advert telling 1000's more people (many new to this) that you can get these illegal charges back from banks.

Whoever at Abbey thought this would work is a complete idiot.

I bet all the other banks are now shaking with anger ABOUT Abbey as it will increase the claims to them. Well done Abbey, if you ever get onto "Who wants to be a Millionaire" ..... PLEASE DO NOT ASK THE AUDIENCE

What do I think? I think you are over dramatising if you think a Lloyds insider is posting on MSE for heaven's sake.

The OP has posted for advice although this can't be given without more detail so please just leave it at that.

And lets not forget that not everyone wants to be plastered across the Daily Mail :)

Here is an odd one for anyone out there, I am just about to take Virgin One account to court for about £700 of charges. But....

Virgin One Account is based in england but they are owned by RBS who have an Edinburgh address. SO do I need to try in the english courts or the scotish sherifs courts??? HELP

You'll find an alternative English address for RBS in the Reclaim Help Thread for use on MCOL, this is linked in my signature.
