I am starting to get excited now, but sad to be leaving this house at the same time. Not long now...........
    Pawpurrs x ;)
  • All measured up to the eyebrows here!

Was lovely to spend some quiet time in the new house today and start to imagine how it will be to live in it! :j Only the third time I've actually been inside despite it being less than 30 miles from us.

A nice bonus was the kitchen was bigger than I'd remembered. :j

Arrived home to find the survey on the doormat. :j Interesting to note that the original value of the property was £140k but on our offer letter it stated that the new value (Aug 06) was £155k (still offering us 60% @ £84k) but the surveyor's report has valued it at £140k again :confused:

Personally it's not that important to us right now as we plan to stay there for some time.... ;)

Now we just wait for the mortgage offer and hopefully the solicitor has all the searches completed and we can think about actually "doing it" :rotfl:

On a downer....I'd estimated approx £300 for removals (equivalent of 1-bed ground floor flat moving to 3 bed house) for distance of 27 miles.....message on the ansaphone says £420. Very tempted to hire a van and put my son & mates to work!

<shuffles off to find cost of van hire> :D

Ghostdog, surveyour will only ever value it at price paid or below.

It IS exciting....and exhausting....and crazy.....and like nothing I've ever been through before! :D
  • Congrats Descartes (like the screen name!) - I know the feeling. I am due to move in next week and I have so much to buy! However I won't complain too much...at least I have exchanged.

    We exchanged this afternoon!!!!!

    So excited!!!!!!!!

    Congratulations mrsc! :j

Had a really frustrating couple of days... and am feeling really fed up now.
The building regs thing is semi-resolved, and our solicitor needs to make sure that the sellers get the right thing, as the extension contravenes a covenant on the deeds (or something).

On the positive side, our solicitor has assured me that she will be able to arrange to complete 1 week after exchange...

It's all very tense at home now - we're like coiled springs ready to explode!
