Hope this is the right place to post!!! Right - I've switched to BT so that I can make use of these cheaper carriers (but tsk tsk haven't actually done anything about it yet). The thing is - I have no idea how to work out what is the best option - I'm happy enough to register with a few places and use a dialling prefix I just don't know what to use and when - please can someone advise. Most of my calls are local or to the orange mobile network and I do make calls during the day, evening and weekend. Occasionally I make national calls - and virtually never make interntional calls. Hope that is enough info.

Money for treats:
Internet clicking: £67.370 -
The 'standard' is:
Line rental - BT together Option 1 - pay by DD;
Free E&W UK 01/02 calls - Primus Saver Option 2;
Weekday daytime UK 01/02 calls - call1899.co.uk - 3p connection and 0p/minute;
Calls to UK mobiles - 18185.co.uk - 4p connection and 5p/minute (2p/minute at weekends);
Peak calls to 0870 numbers - 18185.co.uk - 4p connection and 4p/minute;
E&W calls to 0870 numbers - via BT (use 1280 prefix);
084/0871 calls - vial BT at all times (use 1280 prefix).
Sorry, I should've said there are cheaper options from time to time (see posts below re calls to mobiles) but for ease of use (and less likelihood of having to make changes) the above is my 'norm'.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Calls to mobiles 2p per minute anytime, using 08444621919.
You don't have to dial an international mobile number, just a normal 07 etc. number.
Orchid have just added it to their router numbers at my request. The hashes after the numbers are pauses.0 -

0844 462 23 23 https://www.telediscount.co.uk Bear in mind however this a loss leader service and can be altered at any time.

Thanks Again Heinz0 -

Heinz: I've been wondering this myself - I want to sign up with Primus, and do it through Quidco, via USwitch. I contacted USwitch to ask them why they're not showing Saver 2 and they said, basically, that their info. is taken straight from the Primus Site. I then contacted Primus and they said that the fault must be with USwitch who hadn't updated their site to show the current Primus offer. So, no further on really. I'm tempted either just to sign up directly with Primus, and forego the cashback that Quidco (via USwitch) promises, or else to go through the USwitch and see just what deal that would end up with from Primus.0 -

Primus don't send anything via the post! All their communication is done via email, including billing, which is what helps keep the costs so low"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

but when i joined they said they would send me a letter in the post as well as an e-mail, and considering they have spaces in my e-mail address (didnt know such addresses exsisted) you would think they would twig that it ant right and just pop a letter in post, or even phone me
