Hellp the pre-recruitment checks normally consist of a criminal record check which takes up to three weeks and then they check your references.
I don't thinkthey check your past work history with mine they did a criminal record check and I think they checked 1 of my 2 references.
It isnt about whether they have any vacancies or not if they havent they'll put you on a waiting list. Its normally about passing the checks they put more emphasis on the criminal record check so if you dont pass that you wont pass the check. As long as you pass that and have a good reference you've passed you should have a idea about that.
It takes a while though up to 1-2 months before they contact you could be more so be patient.
QUOTE=NoLogic;24114105]Ah, he got one through just now!he's been successful
But it does say:
'We are now undertaking pre-recreuitment checks and you will be contacted again once these are complete to confirm whether or not we are able to offer you a post'
What are the pre recruitment checks? Just criminal record etc. and 3 year work history?
And when it says to confirm wether or not we can offer you a post, does it mean there may not be positions avaliable or you might not get a post because you don't pass your checks?
Thanks,
Joanne.[/QUOTE]0 -

In regards to IRC60396 (Leicester Pensions position), just had another call from Newcastle requesting my Disclosure Scotland form. Sent it 2 weeks ago via Email, but it was never passed on. They say they might be giving start dates out this week, but obviously nothing guaranteed.
I'm just wondering, since they contacted me requesting the form, and given the info on start dates, it could be likely.
Wishing myself luck anyway.0 -
Thanks for that qadsey, just heared stories of them not getting back to people full stop and worrying a bit!0

They will get back to you however after a while if your wondering whats going on like I was you can get an update by calling the number on the top right of your successfull letter.
Thanks a lot, I'll tell him to wait a month or so then ring it and see where he stands.

attn: tarmis17, mpatel86 and others who might be able to advise.
I've been following this thread ever since applying for an EO position (IRC60227)with the dwp in May 2009. The details are as follows:
applied May 22, 09
online test date: not sure i remember
Interview date: 30 june, 09
checks all clear and crb received (after a lot of chasing up): 4 aug, 09
THE CALL: 10 aug, 09.
Now the only worry I have is that MY CALL, was not the kind of call I had expected. It was not to offer me an EO role like I had applied, but was for a Benefit Delivery Officer position in a location in east london where I live. The lad on the phone said I was being offered that as it would apparently be more convinient for me than a west london position which the IRC60227 was for in the first place.
While I appreciate the close proximity of the new location, I hope I am not being short-changed and that the BDO is not a lower rank/pay job than the EO which I applied and was interviewed for.
I am yet to agree on a start date with them as I have to give some notice to my current employer. They business should be ringing me back this week to agree on a date. I will appreciate if anyone could advice on the similarities/differences in the two posts (Executive Officer and Benefit Delivery Officer). The lad on the phone advised that the salary for the BDO was £23940. Anyone remember what it was for the EO in the advert?
Thanks a lot everyone. I will appreciate urgent responses.
Cheers
Hiya .... I got offered that EO position as well (IRC60227) but unsure about accepting it being a 1 year term contract . I am instead considering an AO permanent position . But the EO salary is tempting ....
Think the main difference between the positions and location of work are :
1. One is customer facing (JCP) and the other is not (BDO)
2. AO do the admin work mainly and EO do some admin work and supervise/check the work of AO0 -
Thats okay!
Im affraid I don't know about an EO grade but im sure that it is not a customer facing position. I also on the internet somewhere, i cant remember where though, but it is the BDO that receives the forwared information from the JCP about new claims for say job seekers allowance, and it is up to the BDO to ensure that the claim is processed.
Sorry good luck in your new job, if you take it!
Edit: i found this on the DWP website for a different location but for an AO role in a BDO Dont know if you will find it usefull but worth a look!
Many thanks. I think that was quite helpful in giving an idea of what the roles are.0 -

thats great info mate.
With regards to the terms of the two jobs you are considering, the fixed term contract always says "with a possibility of extension". I reckon that if you prove your onions, then at the end of ur contract, they'd most likely retain you rather than commence another recruitment drive. Moreover, I wonder what the rate of non-extended contracts are...I bet it would be quite minimal. What I am trying to say is that the pay for the EO is worth considering. We are talking almost 50% more for one year.
I stand to be corrected though.0 -
congrats and hope you enjoy it.
im still waiting lol !!!!!!!0
