I am determined to do this myself - I have coped with all kinds of things over the years ... so I am NOT going to let a relatively small thing like being overweight defeat me!

That's the spirit ;) Think you need to print that out and stick it on your fridge!!! :D

I'm at work, and my tummy has bloated up like a beach ball... confused, as am not usually sensitive to anything and have eaten toast for breakkie, salad and humous / crackers for lunch and an orange, and a chocolate cornflake cake - so nothing particularly strenuous to digest. Am a bit worried it'll explode :( xx

I'm a lot less bloated a lot less often since I reduced wheat in my diet. I haven't cut it out, just eat it less often and in smaller quantities.

  • bobbadog, I quite often get that feeling like I've been blown up with a bicycle pump all of a sudden too and can never put my finger on why - although I do eat more bread than I should so think I'll have a go at cutting the wheat down as purpleivy suggests and see if that helps.

Well done to everyone who's lost this week! I've really struggled the last couple of days - started the week off full of it after losing 2 pounds, but the enthusiasm seems to have worn off as the week's gone on. I've somehow managed to keep on the straight and narrow though because I've got a family meal for my nephew's 21st at an Italian tomorrow night.... got absolutely no intention of watching the calories there!!!!.... so hoping I can stave off the choccie cravings till then and hopefully just one pig out this week won't do too much damage!

    Today I've had...

    B - porridge
L - ham salad sandwich, yoghurt

    nibbles - banana, grapes

Tonight will be spag bol which should hopefully fill me up nicely and stop me obsessing about the Easter eggs I've got for my friend's little 'uns - I've left them in the car boot for safety so if I have a nice bath and put my jimjams on I'll have to get dressed again and go out in the cold to get them, and I'm not going to do that - I hope!

    Have a good weekend everyone!

Hello, not had much chance to post over the last couple of days so just a quick one to say hello and hope you are all doing well.

Food today for me - breakfast - yoghurt and banana, lunch - prawns in roll with teaspoon seafood sauce, dinner- moroccan beef with cous cous (was LOVELY!) some SF angel delight with chopped banana in. 2 coffees to add to that aswell.

Not 'perfect' but really noticed today how much our portions are changing, how much is 'left over' after serving food I have cooked before, cooked the same amounts just served less up......in fact something we'd have finished between us before has a meal left for the freezer!
One day I might be more organised...........

    Hi All

It was OH's 60th birthday today so been out for the day (he's a LOT older than me by the way). I had promised to treat him to lunch out but we found after an icecream and a coffee we weren't hungry so are saving it for another day. We caught the train up into the mountains to a place called Ronda and had a lovely time. Unfortunately, I've had a dull ache in the lower abdomen all day which slightly took the edge of it. I've taken an aspirin now so hopefully it will go away. I've no idea what's causing it - not TOTM which never usually affects me anyway. It's meant I'm not very hungry which must be a good thing though.

Good to hear all the losers doing well. Saversarn I was going to suggest muscles toning up too for your weight gain. You mentioned walking on sand being good for the legs - I certainly can tell its harder work than on the flat. Even harder is the very steep walkway up off the beach. My calves and to a lesser extent my thighs and bottom are actually quite toned - it's my stomach that is the problem. Glad to hear Cheerfulness that your knees are improving.

Hope you are enjoying having DH back Mrs M. My OH looks after me really well too. We've only been together a couple of years but feels like we've belonged together forever. During our six months over here in Spain each year we spend 24 hours a day together and have never got fed up of each other's company once.
    B: Muesli etc. Pineapple juice
    L: Icecream.
D: 2 crackers with cheese. Banana.

    2 cokes. Several milky coffees.

Hope everyone else if fine. Keep up the positive mood RS.

As I thought, no loss to-day, really need to get myself up and running in respect of this weight thing...I know that I am eating too much, the odd few sweets and chocs and cakes are not good...I just can't afford them...moneywise or weight wise...so to-morrow is another day, I am determined to have a reasonable loss (anything at all!) by next Friday...won't make the 7 lbs or anything near it.

Congratulations to all the losers...MrsMC, you are a model for us all, losing loads of weight while saving loads of money, I don't seem to be doing either well at present.

    Keep it going people!

  • Spent £39 food shopping at asda, got home put bags down, my blossom hill grenache wine bottle fell onto kitchen floor and completely smashed! And it cost £4.97 and I was treating myself tonight while my daughter was here. Only wanted one glass tonight. Had uncle bens chill sauce and mince and boiled rice with my daughter. But been bad and had green and blacks white chocolate. Two cups of coffee tonight. Lunch was a prawn sandwich with salad, one banana, breakfast was dorset cereal.

The weekend is when I am bad!

Hard luck with the wine, bet you could've cried. I'm always a bit wary about putting bags on the counter. I prefer to put them on the floor, but stuff would get warm on the underfloor heating. There's a hard tile floor. I've had quite a few breakages since it went down!
