Re: Lose Weight 4

well, I have lost 2lbs this week, my first weight loss this year! Just keep fingers crossed that I will keep it off and then the rest!
ANYWAY... have got a good tip for you fellow dieters..
We all know its good to drink water and it fills you up so I won't pipe on about that but I have made myself a new rule that is not too hard to follow and I think has helped tremendously!
When I am about to sucumb to my poor will power and the treats and choccies are calling me... I make myself first of all drink a full glass of water, then, eat a piece of fruit. If I still want the original "treat" after all that then I let myself have it (as you know if you don't it will haunt you and you'll end up eating ten of them in the end anyway!) but after the water you are full, and the fruit helps with a sweet tooth so you generally can eat just a small piece of cake, biscuit, chocolate etc and then you are happy but haven't been TOO bad
Well, I think its helped me this week anyway!0 -
Cant believe another week has gone. Managed to stay the same again this week. SW Password for this week is fitness.

If you want to use the "Slimming World"website then you need a password that is only given to members who pay the fee every week - which is why the password changes every week:j"This site is addictive!"

I've been lurking for ages but have now decided that I need to remotivate myself!
I've lost just over 3 stone in the last 18 months, about half on my own and then, when I got stuck, I joined Slimming World and lost the other half.
I have about 8 or 9 pounds to go to get to the target I've set myself but I seem to have spent the last 4 months going up and down a pound or two and not really getting anywhere.
I think a lot of the problem is that I've come really far and now fit into most size 12 stuff which was the original aim. The other thing is that everytime I see friends or family that I haven't seen for a while, they are full of compliments so I lose more motivation and think about quitting - it would be nice to feel like I'm not on a diet anymore (though I have realised that I will need to watch what I eat for the rest of my life in order to not end up where I started).
The thing is though that I'm not totally happy and would really like to get that extra bit off - I'd be just under 10 stone then and in the heathy BMI range for my height.
I've decided that I just need to bite the bullet and get on with getting rid of the last few pounds (I'd like to say once and for all but I'm not that brave!) but I will need help and encouragement. My dh has agreed to take all his biscuits and junk to work so they're not in the house tempting me and says he will eat any dinners I need to make - this is a big step, he is 6'3 and thin and resists 'diet food'.
Wish me luck!!0 -
Mary, you're very welcome to join in, it's an inspirational story! And good on your DH for removing temptation - I've got 3 teenage boys in the house and I think there'd be a riot if there were no biscuits, although there aren't usually any left by the time I look!
mclaren, the advice is in this thread and the three which preceded it! Don't know about tablets, but my mantra is eat less, move more. No diets or exercise involved for those who are allergic to either.
But what do I know? Definitely heading the wrong way the last few weeks, was hoping to lose another half stone since April but getting nowhere fast ... because I'm eating too much and not moving enough! Time to get off the pc and head for bed ...Signature removed for peace of mind0
